AKA Vinicia gypsopa and Pempelia digrammella.
A knot-horn moth genus with two species, found in Australia and New Zealand. Since all the sighting records put them either right on the coast, or in the drier interior parts of Australia, I have a suspicion the hostplants are halophytes. We found this one at Lake Ninan, which used to be the biggest source of fresh water in the Wongan Hills area and thanks to landclearing is now six times saltier than seawater.
The knot-horn moths or Phycitinae are a very large subfamily of the Pyralidae, with over 600 genera.
