So glad that tomorrow is my last day of working somewhere that I have to pierce people with a gun. I try to refer as many people who come in for body jewelry or who ask about other piercings that aren't done at my place to go to a local APP shop in GR (@kittenflowerboutique). Especially after working in a place that pierces with a gun, I firmly stand against anyone being pierced this way. I know I've been preaching about this around the internet lately but PLEASE think about WHY it is so cheap to get piercings done in the mall, why it is somehow more safe in your eyes to be pierced in an open, uncontrolled environment, and why you are willing to compromise quality in the name of price. I am so glad that my past experiences when I was younger going to low quality shops didn't really cause me a significant amount of problems. But that isn't the case for everyone. Give yourself the best piercing experience you can. Find a quality, reputable piercer in your area. It is definitely worth the price.

For reference, I have been pierced by Trevor at Kitten Flower Boutique. We did two nostril piercings and an eyebrow piercing in one day. He explained the entire process to me, as well as the reasoning behind why he chose the lengths of jewelry. I was totally comfortable during the whole experience. Later, I saw him to downsize and change some other jewelry, and again had a great experience. I'm actually planning to go see him again in the near future to change out my jewelry again, as well as discuss a potential project for my right ear.

My point is that I have finally been able to find someone I trust to take care of my body throughout the piercing and healing process. It is a great feeling to really know that I'm getting good information rather than being rushed through the piercing to make more money with turnover.

P.S. Just because you see someone in an actual studio doesn't mean they are necessarily following safety procedures or using good jewelry. Be smart. Find the best person for the job.

Just an FYI guys, don't get your cartilage pierced with a piercing gun. I didn't know any better until after I got it. Had it for about a year and had to take it out tonight because it's infected again. Have two little bubbles around it from the gun, bled around a week after I got it, gets infected every time I try to change the earring(only changed it three times). It's infected again(slight purple color) and now other parts of my ear hurt, I gave up and took it out for good.
