That was the only thought that occupied his mind then. Serph was hopelessly, helplessly dizzy. Somehow, he had made a mistake. Wandering this strange, maze-like place within the boundaries of the location Walter had referred to as Naraku, the Embryon Leader had been overcome by an inescapable wave of dizziness. Every breath seemed to exacerbate the sensation, leaving him disoriented and confused. Serph didn’t know when he’d lost his footing, only that he had. Laying prone upon the floor, he had slowly begun to resign himself to his fate as conscious will slipped away.
Then, a hand had taken his in a firm grasp and his attention was demanded by a firm voice calling. Unfamiliar. Languid silver gaze rose from beneath heavy eyelids as absently, a slender hand moved of it’s own accord, reaching. Something Serph was only partially aware of.
The name of his Second-In-Command fell softly from his lips, listless as the rest of him. Dazed. Soon, he was being dragged to his feet. It made his head spin, and Serph was helpless to resist, even if he’d been of a mind to do so. His body felt loose, uncoordinated. Quite embarrassingly, he fell into that sturdier body, hands clinging to those which held onto him. Slowly, gradually Serph began to regain some sense of awareness of his body, of tangible space. It was also when he became cognizant of a face looking at him, of features in the dim light.
Black hair. Pale skin. The unique shape and cut of his bangs. Eyes widened as emotion erupted, partially vanquished by the uncooperative state of his body.
The exclamation came as little more than a gasp, and Serph tried fervently to pull away from his perceived enemy, to call on his Atma and attack. But he couldn't remember the words, the mantra escaping him. The fog of his mind had taken him, left him little more than a weakened, flailing doll. But through this haze and the battle against his own corporeal form, Serph finally began to realize that the man before him wasn’t that wretched fiend, wasn’t anybody he knew. While he resembled that man, this person’s eyes were green, not black. His face was different, masculine in a gentle sort of way. His hair was long and his garb unfamiliar.
Serph blinked slowly in recognition and gradually, he relaxed.
