I have a bit of a soft spot for Pietenpols tho :3

These are homebuilts based on a easy to build design from the 1920s that could be built with scrap wood and whatever engine you could get your hands on. People still build em today with the same idea.

The Pietenpol has been calling my name for many years. I have the plans, now I need a kick in the ass and get started.

The bird in this picture has a has a 100 hp Corvair engine, but I'm considering going all 1928 with a Ford Model A. I'm a historical purist 😎

I had the opportunity to drool... I mean admire this Pietenpol over the weekend. Still near the top of my bucket list. 1929 design never looked so good! When I was younger, I wanted something sleek and fast; however, now... I'd rather low, slow, and goggles.
