17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage.

Have two! 

This first one is essentially just a view of Sanji’s and Zoro’s relationship with each other but over drinks and in the back of some shitty island, and its Zoro basically catching up to Sanji Post WCI?? But also post Wano. So like, It’s a celebration and Zoro egging Sanji on but also affirming with himself that Sanji is still as loyal to Luffy as Zoro is - and that the self sacrificial bs is over, because you don’t sacrifice and die, you sacrifice and live. It’s mostly in the idea stage because FUCK dialogue lmao. 

The second one is me being predictable and is just. Eldritch Straw Hats. All of them. Robin’s part is already written and im very proud of it, and Franky’s I have ideas for (the way flesh and metal meet, the way eyes gleam in the dark, a man and a machine and a weapon all at once-) but im still working on the others!

Thestatement lacked bite, sitting in the Thousand Sunny’s kitchen in her tatteredwedding gown, drinking the blackest, bitterest, most delicious tea she’d evertasted, but not saying it felt too much like she was conceding… something.Pudding couldn’t put her finger on what.

“You’rea pervert. And a moron. And—will you stop giving me food?!”

Sanjipaused, plate in hand. “I’m sorry. You don’t like pasties?”

“Whyare you being nice to me?” She snatched a pasty off the plate, shaking it inhis face. “I tried to kill you!”

“Thathappens a lot,” Sanji said, casually enough that Pudding knew it was true.“Besides, you helped us get out.”

Puddingscowled; she couldn’t explain to herself anymore than she could to theStrawhats why she’d guided them out of Totto Land, or why she hadn’t disembarkedwhen they’d passed Cacao Island. Once they’d passed the last Tarte, Luffy hadjust stared at her, nodded, and declared her third eye “soooo coooooool” before demanding meat, and that was that.

Itfelt way too easy.

“Idon’t want your pity,” she said.

Sanjiblinked. “You never had it.”

Itwas so simple, so earnest, and Pudding panicked and shoved the whole pasty inher mouth so she wouldn’t have to respond. Sanji flushed, his face taking onwhat she recognized as his ‘You are the cutest, most wonderful woman in theworld’ expression, before he shook himself and gestured to the tray he’d beenarranging.

“I’mgoing to give Nami-swan, Carrot-chan, and those other assholes their snacks.Let me know if there’s anything you’d like.” And he was out of the kitchen, hissteps maybe a touch more hurried than usual.

Puddingsank into a chair at the dining table, her heart fluttering. Somehow, knowing thathe knew what she was and was still completely sincere… she didn’t know how tohandle him anymore.
