{ keira knightley, thirty-five, cis female, she/her } hey, roman ridley? good to see you, with all the insanity going on! still working at fish and wildlife as an agent? that’s good. i mean, you’ve been around thirty-five years, what do you make of this insanity? hey, i heard that people have been saying that you’re into creating your own codes so even you forget your secrets, escaping to the worlds of the past before you turn your light off to sleep, and having playlists for everything. you also remind people of taking advantage of being consistently underestimated, adding another language to your repertoire and driving in the rain with music blaring out, which i like. well, stay safe out there and remember to listen to the fog warnings.
roman ridley’s parents were expecting a boy ( even though they decided to keep the birth a surprise ) and when the resulting child was distinctly not a boy, they decided to keep the name anyway. her parents are english, but she was born in pinehaven & has spent her whole life there.
so many wonder, surrounded by pinehaven residents, how roman managed to keep her parents’ accent. the truth is, she decided she liked it better, and the real answer is: practice.
she’s a polyglot. languages always came naturally to roman, and they weave into the “lives” she’s had, the “experiences” she’s been through. because she can hardly tell the truth about what she really does at fish & wildlife, absences have to be excused with stories so riveting that the asker has forgotten what question they asked by the time she’s finished.
roman ridley once won a monopoly game with only the four train stations to her name, in which she let the other players develop rivalries with one another until one by one, they folded and handed off their property to her to avoid giving even the tiniest amount to each other.
she also dms dungeons & dragons campaigns, and is pinehaven’s official air hockey champion. ( many a guilty smile has been flashed before money for property damage is handed over. )
not the kind of person you’d expect to be a federal agent, right? exactly. she’s got a social media repertoire on conservation / wildlife issues.
( her family are wealthy fuckers, think grovesnor group, who left england after a political scandal, but their money is — unfortunately — intact. roman interacts with that money only sometimes, when it makes assignments easier, when she can give it to charities to upkeep her image. )
and yeah, she’s not necessarily steve irwin but she’s trying to look like she is. fish & wildlife and all that.
bisexual legend. so like, hit me up for ships if you’re willing to test the waters with roman: she can be a flirty little fucker when she wants to be, and she’ll happily pay the drink tab out of her asshole parents’ money.
non-committal. like really, roman doesn’t know what that is. she’s a rolling stone who loves open relationships, but the closest she came to going exclusive was with marielle belcourt, a frenchwoman who went missing when the fog came down two weeks ago.
motorbike bi (tm).
it’s not like they’d miss it. they don’t miss her. they live in the same town and they haven’t spoken in many a year.
she really does have playlists for everything! she’s got to vibe, dude. if she doesn’t vibe it interrupts her flow, and that’s never good. not for her or for anyone who’s unfortunate enough around her.
║ Jasper Lobeke • Thirty three • Pine Haven • Fish and Wildlife Chapter ║
hello hello! i’m stella, 24, she/her pronouns please, and in the cst. this is my lil sweetheart bumpkin wanna be named jasper. he’s honestly a peach who really needs someone to help keep him on track and now just a general mess with life. this man may be smart but one look at his desk and you’ll know he needs HELP!!
And so, I give you wonderful Jasper:
— x . Jasper grew up a lost city boy with his older brother Julian and his younger sister June. The three of them were raised by their grandmother since their mother worked three jobs in order to take care of them. Always a doting mother whenever she was home, her presence was still missed as the Lobeke siblings grew up. Jasper had always been quiet, lost in a big world that felt a little too much for him sometimes.
— x . When he was around ten years old, he found his passion for science in the way of a science fair project. Thinking back on it now, it had been a silly project about the differences in leaves produced from the same tree. But little Jasper found a love for research and science books. His teachers were more than happy to supply him the books and he’d spend his lunches asking all sorts of questions.
— x . Always someone who floated in the middle, Jasper never really fit in anywhere. He had friends in every clique when high school came around. The skaters, the jocks, the nerds... Jasper had always been someone who could strike up a conversation with just about anyone which came as a shock to some considering how quiet he could be sometimes. He had three best friends that he would have done anything with - ride or die besties.
— x . After high school, it was almost a given that he would continue on to college. He ended up with a full ride to Stanford University after working tirelessly all during his years in high school. He wanted to continue studying science, exploring the world around him and the fascinating nuances. His brother Julian had encouraged him, stayed up late nights to help him study even if he’d never been the one with the smarts.
— x . Leaving his siblings behind in the East coast had been hard, but Jasper thrived in college as he dedicated himself to Biology. It was through a few different projects that he found his love for genetics and zoology. It was also during his undergraduate that Jasper found his next love. Her name had been Georgia, a southern beauty who was sweet as could be and studying music. The two of them met at a party and it wasn’t much longer before they were going on dates and in a relationship.
— x . But all good things come to an end, a sad truth that Jasper learned. After graduation, he’d proposed to Georgia and the two of them had planned for a long engagement as Jasper continued to graduate school and Georgia started her job with a symphony. Flowers always brought home on the weekends, dinner date nights, Jasper always did his best to make sure he made time for Georgia and her needs. What he hadn’t anticipated was for her to fall in love with one of her fellow symphony members.
— x . A broken heart and a new apartment later, Jasper found himself on his own. He finished out his graduate program and while he intended to continue on to get his doctorate, he sought after jobs first. He bounced around between a few different research assistant jobs and projects, climbing his way up in notoriety as he published papers and quickly became lead scientist for many projects. Eventually Jasper was reached out by a part of the government, if that’s what you want to call them. Secretive. Lucrative. And the possibilities to see things he’s never seen before? It wasn’t much of a job description, but Jasper needed something new.
— x . So six months ago he found him assigned to Pine Haven under the guise of the “Fish and Wildlife” chapter. It was a different world, working with agents who seemed far too serious and Jasper couldn’t help but think in the beginning that everyone was a little too crazy. Sure, he’d been debriefed but maybe everyone just didn’t know what they were looking at. It only took a month for Jasper to realize that no, there was something very strange happening in Pine Haven.
— x . He’s made himself a little home in Pine Haven. He bought himself a little house in the town, old and a little beat up but nothing a new paint job couldn’t fix. When he isn’t working at work, Jasper’s usually found working on his little home and trying to make something of it. He has a list of projects to accomplish, but Jasper is far from a handyman and trying to learn how to do everything he needs has been interesting to say the least.
— x . At the core, Jasper is very much a gentleman who is just trying to do his best in the world. But don’t be fooled. While he’s smart and easy to talk to, Jasper’s forgetful and impulsive. He’s a cluttered mess and that’s easily noticeable by looking at his desk alone. He navigates his world with post-it notes and little reminders for himself. Jasper also has a tendency to zero focus in on something and it takes a lot to pull his attention away.
— x . As he’s only been here for six months he’s open to anything new for plots or connections! I do imagine he does have some friends by now and the below would also be cool to see:
Neighbor
Breakfast/Coffee Buddy
Handyman Helper or Just a friend to help? Please someone show this man how to fix things and not break his entire house
Science Nerds!! Someone just geek out with him please
{ rami malek, 35, male, he/his} hey, AAH SAYID? good to see you, with all the insanity going on! still working at OUR LADY OF THE FORESTS CHURCH as the LEADER? that’s good. i mean, you’ve been around FIFTEEN YEARS, what do you make of this insanity? hey, i heard that people have been saying that you’re into WARNING OTHERS OF THE GOD IN THE WOODS, STARTING FIRES, and PLAYING BINGO . you also remind people of ALL BLACK OUTFITS, OBSCENE AMOUNTS OF COFFEE, STAYING AWAKE FOR 36 HOURS STRAIGHT, and FALLING ON YOUR KNEES WEEPING, which i like. well, stay safe out there and remember to listen to the fog warnings.
Aah’s name is pronounced like “Yah” and he is named after an Egyptian moon God (also spelled Iah or J’h)
Aah is the cult leader, so you might be expecting someone manipulative, clever, and charming. Think again. Aah is frantic and firmly believes all the things he preaches. The voices in his head let him in on a lot of this information... or maybe the voices in the trees. He is convinced that he is doing good work and it’s important to society.
He is schizophrenic, but intermittently quits his his medication so he can “think clearer.”
At some point I might put out a wanted connection for him for a spouse but I don’t have the details yet.
I definitely have icons for Aah, and maybe gifs??? But tumblr is giving me grief about saving gifs so we will see.
okay, hello, this is going to be a part one to a series of introductions ! i have already hit my five character cap because i’m a menace but that means you get more content and honestly that feels like a fair trade off. without my rambling, i give you nicky ( click here to find some quick facts about my boy ) and emi ( click here to find some quick facts about my girl ) ! wanted connections can be found here.
be warned ! before you click that handy dandy little read more, the following triggers will be discussed : death ( multiple deaths due to the fog, not explicit : both nicky and emi ), grief ( parent losing a child : emi ), religion ( turning away from : emi ) !
losing friends and family to the fog and blaming yourself for not being more vigilant, taking guardianship of your little sister and getting a second job to make sure ends meet, trying your hardest and kicking yourself for not doing better, bloodied knuckles aggravated by vodka to clean them and wrapped so tightly you fear your fingers might turn blue, anger replaced by grief replaced by the understanding she needs you and you will tear down the rest of the world to keep her safe.
nicholas adam locklear was born in inverness, scotland, and still has a scottish accent even though he’s been in the country for twenty years.
nicky and his family moved to maine a few months before his seventh birthday. they moved to maine because his mother, a once american ex pat, had a father who wanted his kids to be closer because they all seemed to have scattered to the wind. he walked into the fog a week after the locklears had unpacked their home.
the fog has always been a thing of morbid fascination from nicky and after grandpa took his walk into the woods, nicky was kept particularly far away from the forest line, fog warnings or not. on all saint’s day, the day after he turned eight, nicky found himself in the fog. and then he found himself in his bed with no explanation for either event.
he started drawing that day, intricate sigils that gave themselves meaning but no voice, so he spoke them into existence: protection from sorcery, protection from evil, wards off negative energies, heal the body and the spirit. four symbols that he couldn’t stop drawing on everything he owned. homework, notebooks, on the walls of his home in crayon ( if you look in those spots today, in the locklear family home, they’re painted now. a whole interior room covered in the sigils intended to look like an artsy photo collage wall. ).
some in town say that the locklears are cursed, that their family bears bad blood, that they owed some kind of karmic debt too large for one life. whatever the rumor, they all boil down to one thing: too many locklears have gone missing in the fog. nicky’s paid little mind to them, though there’s a voice too strange to be his but too familiar to dismiss that encourages him to go in ( to go back ).
nicky’s life revolves around his little sister, belle, who was born when he was twenty. a few months later, their mother went into the fog and their father went about an hour later to try and look for her. neither came home. though the courts tried to pass belle off to the next living relative, nicky petitioned for rights to guardianship because he lived in the home and could find a way to make ends meet for him to be belle’s caretaker. enter the diner and blue valley.
nicky’s always been a hard worker, never one to take a short cut and never one to take the easy way out. his focus has always been to take care of belle above board, so no one could have a reason to take away the last of his family. that little babe was his world and is nicky’s driving force in most things. he started working at the bar first and took on a job at the diner when he realized that tips got slow after a certain hour and what better way than to make more money by helping to sober up the people you just got drunk ?
when customers offer to buy nicky drinks, he usually puts together a couple of complimentary mixers ( cranberry juice, pineapple juice, and orange juice ) and pours in water from an old tito’s bottle to make it look like he’s adding tequila. he’ll pocket the cost of a drink as an extra tip. he never drinks on the job.
his jobs aren’t glamorous but they keep the roof over his head and belle’s. he works 14 hour days ( 9 pm to 11 am ; 9 pm - 3 am at blue valley and 3:10 to 11 am at the diner ), 6 days a week ( sundays off ), 84 hours a week and he’s damn good at what he does, and seldom calls out for anything. nicky’s the kind of guy to pound three monsters and call it a day just to keep himself going. he’s used to running on little sleep because of his paternal role with belle and wanting to keep as engaged with her as possible. he usually leaves her with the finnegans so he doesn’t have to pay any babysitting money.
the one time nicky tried, dottie looked at the bills in his hand and just hugged him tightly and said, “no child of mine is going to pay me to watch theirs.” nicky cried that day and spent ten minutes crying into her shoulder and then slept on her couch for a few hours while belle played with the finnegan twins.
nicky is a good person and he’s a really good dad. at 22 he became licensed in the state of maine to be able to foster and has fostered ten kids in the last five years. right now it’s just him and belle in the house that his parents bought that he keeps up as best as he can. the guest bathroom needed a remodel three years ago and the kitchen appliances only work when you knock on them the right way and if the wind’s blowing in the right direction, but some things are just the way that it is.
other important things that i couldn’t work in above but you should know:
nicky gives like ,,, just really comforting hugs that suggest a level of emotional intimacy that is likely to catch you pleasantly off guard.
will help you buy your groceries because he has a better chance of making fifty dollars tonight than you do.
usually sleeps on disney princess sheets because belle insisted they would look best in his room ( she was right ). his other sheets are bubblegum pink and he bought them for himself because that’s the vibe he was feeling and sometimes you just have to do what will put a smile on your face.
his little sister is seven but nicky is the only parent she’s ever known and she usually calls him dad over nicky even though she knows the difference.
nicky calls her his kid a lot. everyone in town pretty much knows the story.
steady hands and steady heart are starting to shake, pleading with officers don’t let me bury an empty casket, the table set for three but you can’t bring yourself to put the plate away, pale yellow front door once made your laugh now just makes you sad because your daughter’s sunshine still lingers, and there’s no place to put your faith, nothing so powerful would take away a little girl.
emi is considerably less fleshed out than nicky but we’re still going to do our best to give her a fair shake at an intro, so here goes !
noemi was born noemi sofia ibarra in pine haven, maine. though she’s always considered pine haven her home, she’s always desired that her upbringing was somewhere warmer.
she’s a third generation doctor at the clinic, following in the footsteps of her grandfather and mother and knew from a young age that she wanted to help people. she bounced from pine haven for a while ( from ages 18 to 28 ) and followed her dreams to go somewhere warmer and graduated from emory university’s medical school in atlanta.
she pushed through medical school immediately after graduating with her undergrad and returned to pine haven as a permanent resident when she was 29. having been home, officially, for ten years, she has found herself in the center of the community. more often than not, residents of town know they can call emi and come sit on her kitchen table if they need urgent care.
life outside of pine haven’t wasn’t all medical school, though, because she also met her the father of her daughters. at 23 emi gave birth to her elder daughter, evangeline. that sweet little girl meant the world to her and emi spent double the amount of time awake those first semesters trying to get used to having a baby and school to balance. she was the center of emi’s universe, this baby and her father.
emi’s second daughter, catalina, was born about eight years ago and is as much emi’s pride and joy as her older sister. the pair never fail to blow emi away in their creativity, kindness, and love, and she has made that known to them from the time they could open their eyes. though these times were sweet it’s time to fast forward to the current day because this is where emi shifts for the worse for as much as she doesn’t want to.
two weeks ago, during the fog warning, evangeline wasn’t home with the family. emi was at work, locked down with a few patients, and when she didn’t get a phone call from her daughter, like she asks of all her family, she started to worry. panic didn’t settle in until after the fog warning and no one had heard from evangeline. frantic, begging, trying to stave off the final moments before the inevitable declaration, emi found herself begging the officers at the station: find me something to bury before absolutely crumbling against the weight of her own fears.
prior to her daughter’s disappearance, emi had put at least some stock into god but spite consumes her whenever she thinks about him. something all loving doesn’t steal child from the arms of their mother’s and something all powerful doesn’t let whatever lives in the forest to exist after taking the first soul. this town suffers because of that fog and venom pools in her mouth waiting to spit at the first person who proclaims that god will watch over her daughter. some people turn to faith for stability. emi has turned away.
║ Everett Lanford • Thirty five • Pine Haven • Elementary Teacher ║
hello hello! i’m this is stella again, 24, she/her pronouns please, and in the cst. this time around we’ve got mr. everett who is a rain storm on a hot summer night. he’s been through a lot but he’s grown from it all and is doing his best to try to be a good person. he looooooves kids and you can probably always find glitter on him somewhere!
TRIGGER WARNING: neglect, homophobia
And so, here is the lovely Everett:
— x . Everett grew up as an only child. His parents had both planned their life out very carefully. Engaged at 23, married at 24, stable jobs, and then one single child when they were 30. That was their plan and heaven forbid fate try to intervene into it. That’s how Everett’s life had been for majority of his childhood growing up. His parents had a plan for everything and anything. All his milestones, which schools he would attend, what job he would end up having. Their expectations were high and Everett figured that out very quickly.
— x . As a child, he’d been very rambunctious with far too much energy for any little kid to process. Much to his parents dismay. He was often found running around the front yard of their home in Pine Haven after they moved there when he was five years old. He’d explore up and down the streets, pretending to be an astronaut or a treasure hunter. Often it was a struggle to wrestle him back into the house for dinner. He always had some form of dirt on him, especially when he was supposed to be wearing his Sunday best.
— x . When he got older, it was clear that Everett wasn’t on the same wavelength with his parents. Often times if they wanted him to go left, he went right. He couldn’t handle the weight on his shoulders from their expectations and the nightly lectures so he often found himself rebelling against them. He just wanted to be his own person. Unfortunately, that led to Everett having a rebellious streak that got him into a number of arguments and fights in school.
— x . His saving grace? His high school English teacher. She’d been in the circle of friends with his parents although never really close to them personally so she knew some of what Everett dealt with at home. And it wasn’t necessarily a secret when people could walk past the Lanford household to hear the yelling from Mark and Ruth. Ms. Rhodes took the time and patience to talk to Everett and for once someone asked him: what do you want to do with your life?
— x . She worked with him for the rest of his high school time to build his grades up and tried to keep him out of trouble. That didn’t mean Everett didn’t get into a fight or two, but he’d definitely learned to start channeling his emotions better. The resentment from his parents would never go away but he could at least learn to handle it better so it didn’t hurt anyone else. It helped being able to talk to his teacher without worry. Ms. Rhodes was the first person Everett actually came out to during his senior year of high school. The first time he’d heard someone tell him: I’m so proud of you. His parents had a very opposite reaction and that ended their relationship.
— x . High school graduation came - his parents absent, but Ms. Rhodes in the stands cheering for him. Now with ties to Everett cut off, there wasn’t much keeping his parents in Pine Haven and they’d had just about enough of the town and the horrors within it. They moved away to retire and Everett found himself a crappy little apartment, a part-time job, and went to college so he could get his degree in elementary education. He definitely became a far cry from the boy he’d been growing up with far too much pent up anger.
— x . Once he graduated college, Everett didn’t look very far for a job. He knew he wanted to stay in Pine Haven and he went to the school district building with his resume, dressed up, and every intention to leave with a job. Since then, he’s been working as an elementary school teacher, a job that he enjoys every single day of his life. Everett loves children; watching them grow and learn. He also recognizes that even if they’re young, some of them still need help and guidance from someone. If he’d had that when he’d been younger in his parents or teachers earlier... maybe things would have been different.
— x . It was a few years later, when he was 24, that he’d met his now husband - Aleksandr. It hadn’t been intentional, Everett hadn’t been seeking out anything and the two had just been good friends before it slowly blossomed into something more. Previously, he’d just assumed that he would have always stayed single - not because he wanted to live the single lifestyle but because he didn’t think anyone would have been interested in him. He’d hardly expected to end up married and now with two children of his own but he couldn’t be happier with his life right now. His family means the world to him and Everett will do just about anything for his kids and his husband.
— x . Everett is someone always looking for a good laugh and willing to go the extra mile to help someone. He does have a temper that he works very hard to keep a control of and regularly sees someone about as he has since he was in high school. When he isn’t working, Everett’s either spending time with his family or he’s working on his latest project in the garage while listening to old vinyl records and singing off key. He also loves cooking and watching late night horror movie classics.
— x . Everett’s been in Pine Haven nearly his entire life so he’s very open to just about anything for plots or connections!
Exes!!
Best friends/friends - Please give this man some friends
Confidante/ Ride or Die - I’m thinking this is someone who has known Everett for a long time, has been there through the good and bad and the two of them really rely on each other.
Enemies
Mentee? - I love the idea of Everett being a mentor for someone and really trying to guide/help them from making the same mistakes that he’s made and just being there for someone like he wanted someone to have been there for him.
ANTIGONE “ANNIE” RÓISÍN MAEVE FINNEGAN LAZZARO: AN INTRODUCTION
{ hayley atwell, 39, cis female, she/her } hey, antigone “annie” finnegan lazzaro? good to see you, with all the insanity going on! still working at pinehaven theatre as the artistic director? that’s good. i mean, you’ve been around thirty-nine years, what do you make of this insanity? hey, i heard that people have been saying that you’re into re-reading the books you learned about at school to see if they’re more lovable when you’re not being forced, sculpting the world’s most magnificent sandcastle with your child with a free smile on your lips & making a family for your daughter between stage-hands and actors. you also remind people of the lipstick that almost convinces you your life’s together, the strong desire to finally do something yourself without the help of others, an annotated copy of the theatre’s next play, work-glasses set atop the open pages with a half-finished cold coffee, and pathetic fallacy, which i like. well, stay safe out there and remember to listen to the fog warnings.
antigone isn’t her birth name: she was born aisling ( ash-ling. ) if you ask why she changed it, she’ll tell you it was to stick it to equity: ‘try telling me that’s a name an actor already has,’ with all the anger in her chest ( it wasn’t much; it never has been ) but really, she had to get away from the child who lived in that house with their father. and if you know where to look, the theme of punishment for defending family & particularly the character of creon, it’s almost heartbreaking that that is where — of all the choices she could’ve made — she decided to go: especially when you consider that the character of antigone, in her determined defiance, is an aspiration for annie rather than a reflection. she’s more of an ismene, but she wants to be better. but most people do call her annie, and thus they miss the greek tragedy she was named after.
she truly has all the love in the world. for everyone but herself, that is. she’s never quite mastered the concept of self-love, perhaps because any notion of it was crushed by their father. but she’s very maternal, because she doesn’t want anyone who might need it to go without what rory did for her: if you’re having a rough day, she’ll happily have you over, make you food, and you can vent. backstage at the theatre can oftentimes be a support group — but if you talk to her, you can count on her confidence.
that being said, she’s never gone to actual therapy herself and probably never will, because to her that would mean doing the unthinkable: conceding that she is not, in fact, fine. if she can keep the number of people who see her with tear-stained cheeks in a given week to rory and just about nobody else — especially not her daughter sophia — she thinks she’s got it made.
yeah, she’s definitely got depression.
antigone married sebastian lazzaro, who she met while she was studying literature & drama at the university of maine. it was almost fairytale, how head-over-heels they were. until it wasn’t, of course, but they were happy first. dated for five years, married twelve, and have their little sunshine: twelve year old sophia.
sophia was raised at the pinehaven theatre, annie’s project, and she’s still the artistic director there to this day. but there was always space for sophia in annie’s work, and though she knew it was hard for bash, he could’ve made more of an effort to manage his time.
annie divorced him — bash, to her — not because she didn’t love him. it wasn’t even truly for herself. it made sense to her and to the little voice in her head that she would be... insufficient. it was the fact that her husband’s timetable didn’t make time for their child that really pushed her over the edge. she could see sophia’s hope that her father would be home, that he’d tell her stories from work ( he couldn’t ) being continually crushed. she knew he wasn’t bad, knew his heart was in the right place ( she’s certainly got perspective on bad fathers ) but sophia needed something stable, and it had quickly become apparent to annie that the only way their daughter was going to get that was via a custody arrangement that she could legally hold him to.
she both regrets it, and doesn’t. because after all, it got her what she aimed for: stability for sophia. the only remaining sign of her regret — that she didn’t want it for herself — is that she’s never gotten rid of her last name.
champion cookie maker. if you’ve had a rough day, you’re going to have an annie finnegan lazarro giving you cookies. after all, i don’t make the rules. that’s just the way that she is.
5′8″ literature & theatre nerd who spends too long putting her face on in the morning. the annie behind the lipstick and the rest of it is more... tired. you can just see more of her, and that doesn’t fit her goal of seeming okay. she listens to anything & everything, she’s got quite the eclectic spread, so it’s quite likely really that her choice reflects her mood. you just have to know where to look for it. ( her favourite musical is six, in case anyone was wondering. it’s her dream to find a way to put it on in pinehaven, but in the current climate, it seems a little blasé. )
she lives in the house that bash bought for her. she works in the theatre someone helped her set up. and the theme continues — annie wants nothing than to be able to stand up and say i did it myself. annie has a sensitive heart, so that often means people feel protective of her, or like they need to be.
her theme is she used to be mine from waitress thank you for coming to my ted talk. her song for when she’s not coping but trying to: happiness happening by lost witness. amsterdam by daughter is my angsty song for days and... yeah, it fits her too. ‘by the morning i will have grown back.’
{ billy burke, 50, male, he/his) hey, STEVE WOOD? good to see you, with all the insanity going on! still working at THE POLICE STATION as a/n SHERIFF? that’s good. i mean, you’ve been around FIFTY YEARS, what do you make of this insanity? hey, i heard that people have been saying that you’re into DRINKING, WATCHING CLASSIC FILMS, and COOKING. you also remind people of FRESHLY VARNISHED HARDWOOD, DRINKING ALONE, THE SMELL OF CIGARETTE SMOKE AND CHEAP COLOGNE, YEARNING FOR LOST LOVE, and LOOKING IN THE MIRROR AND FINDING MORE WRINKLES UNDER HIS EYES, which i like. well, stay safe out there and remember to listen to the fog warnings.
Steve Wood is the sheriff, and he’s very tired and lonely. He married his high school sweetheart Loretta, but she left him twelve years ago now. Still, every anniversary he drinks scotch and thinks about calling her.
Steve’s best friend, (although neither of them would necessarily put it that way) is Rory Finnegan. After working together for years, they have grown a bond. They might not talk about feelings and crap, but they know that they are there for one another. Steve has been trying to be supportive since Rory lost his wife to the fog, but he’s never been very good at that.
Loretta left him because she couldn’t get pregnant and that was basically a strain on their relationship because she desperately wanted kids. She had them with another man now. Steve guesses he should be happy for her.
His house is decorated very minimally, and the only things Steve really indulges in are food and drink.
{ hayley kiyoko, 26, female, she/hers ) hey, SAMANTHA SHIMIZU? good to see you, with all the insanity going on! still working at MILKY HAVEN BOWLING ALLEY as a/n MANAGER? that’s good. i mean, you’ve been around FIVE YEARS, what do you make of this insanity? hey, i heard that people have been saying that you’re into BOWLING, GOSSIPING, and TURNING EVERYTHING INTO A COMPETITION. you also remind people of ACTUALLY LOOKING GOOD IN A BOWLING SHIRT, THINKING PIXIE STICKS ARE A VALID FOOD SOURCE, SAYING “YOU WANNA GO?”, SHORT FINGER NAILS, and MANIC GIGGLES. which i like. well, stay safe out there and remember to listen to the fog warnings.
Samantha who also sometimes goes by Sam is the best bowler you’ll ever meet, and she won’t let you forget it. In fact, she’s pretty competitive about everything. But bowling is her favourite, which is why you can usually find her at the Milky Way Bowling Alley, even when she’s not working there as the manager.
No one Samantha’s been close to has been affected by the fog yet. Maybe that’s why she rolls her eyes when she sees the members of Our Lady Forests Church, or why she hasn’t gotten scared and jumped town yet. She likes her life in this little town and doesn’t want to shake it up.

I don’t know where I’m at with resources yet, tbh. I have some gifs but I’m not organized yet.
