I had a thought while reading a fic last night…

What if the reason why Shadows quills are splayed out the way are is because most of his life he was probably laid down onto a table from his experiments. He’s like the only hedgehog who has quills that are swooped outwards like that. (I know silver technically has the reverse bangs going on but still!) then he’d be able lay his head more evenly.

It hurt my heart to think that 🥲. Now I’ve got that as a hc. Like what if his quills were all meant to point downwards like the his middle quills and like Sonic’s.
