Boodle fight: When friends travel hours to visit you on the island you’re living on, I figured it would be appropriate to express my gratitude through treating them to a memorable meal. Even though I took my friends from South Africa to the night market and another food park beforehand, we still eagerly tackled and finished the entire fingerlickin’ good assortment of fresh seafood, grilled vegetables and garlic rice at our final destination. For some Westerners, eating with your hands is a novelty but for us it just makes sense and somehow the food tastes better too. And we enjoyed all of this with the ambience of live acoustic music around us.
