Pipitlink Drabble

A segment of a ship i enjoy but probably wouldn't be able grasp properly enough to make a fic out of it.

"So, what's the surface like?"

They were sitting on the floating island in Skyloft (Yes, the floating island above the floating island), their feet in the pool of water as they enjoyed the sunshine.

"Well, to start, it's totally different from Skyloft. Like, the forest may be the closest, but there's so many new and different things. The birds are smaller!" Link spoke, kicking the water a bit. "But there's monsters everywhere and I have to kill them to do some of the quests, and-" He paused when Pipit laid a hand on his shoulder. "But it's all for Zelda. I have to save her some way and this may very well be it."

"This is the way, Link."

He nodded slightly and laid back on the grass. "But it's always nice to come back up and see you. I think about you a lot down there. 'Save Zelda, Return to Pipit,' I guess."

Pipit chuckled, reaching down into the water and flicking it out at Link.

"Hey!" Link sat up immediately, glaring. "What was that for?"

Pipit laughed, "Just wanted to."

"Fine then. Take this." Link stood up and shoved Pipit into the water.

The boy in yellow surfaced, sputtering. "Oh, it's on." He grabbed Link's leg pulling him in as well.

They splashed back and forth for a little while before they noticed the sun was getting rather low in the sky.

"We should probably get heading down." Pipit hummed, "I have patrol tonight."

Link sighed sadly then perked back up, looking back to Pipit. "Wanna jump with me?"

"W-what?"

"Like dive into the water from here? I've done it before!"

After a bit of asking, they stood and jumped from the island, into the water. As they got out, Pipit stalled for a moment. "Now i have to get dry clothes."

"I do too-" Link was cut off by a peck to the lips.

"Gotta go." Pipit left, leaving Link sputtering.
