This whole Johnny Depp thing got me rewatching some Pirates movies

and i gotta say

Pirates 4 is actually not bad.

It's definitely got that "filler episode" vibe going on, and the mermaid/christian guy love angle was pretty fuckin lame

but

sometimes you just want a semi-lighthearted movie about Jack Sparrow being Jack Sparrow -- wacky and swashbuckling -- with a bunch of supernatural pirate shit going on.

it's a fun ride and pretty briskly paced

was not bored watching it

The Pirates of the Caribbean Syrena mermaid tail has finally reached completion.

You do not know how long I have worked on this thing. I’m so happy it’s done.

It took from 2011-2016 to find the right color fabric and a reliable place to buy it from, as well as a decent amount of reference photos. They are surprisingly hard to find. The tails got very little screen time.

I was way too busy to make tails so I finally started it in 2019.

Then it got shelved because barn life and film life took over.

Then I picked it back up again a few weeks ago, thought I had finished it, but wasn’t happy with it. Then I tattered the edges Friday, and WOW, so much happier with this piece.

I love this.

So Syrena from Pirates 4 is probably the cutest, sassiest mermaid ever. 10/10 would recommend
