holistic development my ass

i still think SCALE is fucked. magtataglish na ako kasi this is a topic na talagang di ko na kinakaya

i get it im an irresponsible person in the first place pero im a person who really likes my own time and leisure so im sorry if i really hate na may dagdag workload na naman ako na sure naman akong di ko magagamit in the future. requiring teens to do 5 different activities na magreresult to non-graduation pag di magawa is so fucked up. 

1. Time Constraint

This program only limits students to 1 year and 5 months (Grade 11 - 1st Qtr to Grade 12 - 2nd Qtr), tapos dalawa pang buwan dun is yung vacation mo kung saan magaaral ka pa for the entrance exams kasi magkocollege ka, so dapat 13 months na lang yung alloted time. In my opinion, vacation is vacation, bakit ka magsisiksik ng technical school activity into students’ family bonding time or whatnot? 

2 weeks per quarter is allotted for the hell week before perio and perio itself (minsan nga more) so that makes 12 weeks or 3 months na dapat di nagagalaw so you have  10 months to do your programs. Start ng grade 12 pa yung time na puro entrance exam and entrance exam season at the shortest is 2 months, so kain pa ulit yun so you have 8 months to do shit. 

(I mean sure di ka naman for full 2 months magaaral pero jusko do you really want your students to sacrifice time na nakalaan for studying para makapasa sa magandang school for making programs na di naman probably useful sa careers nila in the future?)

You also have time to sacrifice for research, yung main goal ng school na to na dapat quality and chene chene whatever. May time for making JARs, RRLs, yung mismong paper, yung experimentation, yung presentation, na i think in total makaka abot ng 2 months if pinagdikit dikit yung actual times doing them + weekends and breaks na pampacooldown, 3 if mej may quality or maybe 4 if microbio yung research niyo. so that’s 4-6 months, so 5 months left in average to do 5 of your scale programs.

Dapat daw 2 weeks before ng start ng program magawa mo na yung paperwork and everything so at least 2 weeks matatanggal pa. that’s 4 months and 2 weeks na tira. 

4 months and 2 weeks mo pagsisiksikin yung 5 scale activities, yung pagpapasign mo ng mga kung ano ano sa mga taong kailangan for scale, quizzes, discussions, hobbies and social life mo. tapos gusto pa nila sustainable daw yung activities. Meron pa yung mga personal problems in life na inevitable na di mawala na constantly nandiyan throughout the life span.

2. Ano ba priority?

Gusto niyo ng research na maganda as top priority, gusto niyo maganda performace ng students academically sa school niyong madugo yung mga requirements, dapat maganda mental health ng studyante pero gumawa kayo ng program na pag di magawa di gagraduate yung estudyante? so ano ba talaga gusto niyong unahin?

3. Telescope-Microscope

Can we stop generalizing na lahat ng students pareparehas capabilities? Kasi hindi. You want holistic development. Well, sorry, pero not everyone wants holistic development. You’re forcing students to do things na they don’t want to do.

You want action, eh what if the student doesn’t enjoy physical activity or may medical condition? Tatanggalan niyo siya ng comfort just so you can say na “Our school’s so great kasi maganda sa lahat ng sectors yung mga students namin.” Tangina niyo. 

Creativity? Putangina, creativity is not forced! Creativity comes from inspiration not pressure. In the first place di naman kami pwedeng kumuha ng creative na course! Kung pipilitin niyo silang maging creative, I don’t think actually magiging creative sila.

Leadership? Not everyone kaya maging part of a group and lead. Most of the jobs we want to pursue puro pang independent katulad ng pagiging doctor, scientist, lawyer, minsan engineer, mga trabahong pangisahan! Di lahat kami magiging businessperson!

Service mej gets ko pa eh pero tangina sa tingin niyo para saan yung 2 years na ilalaan namin para sa Pilipinas?

I get it, you want the students to improve in different parts of life pero jusko do you really think forcing them would encourage them? Good idea, bad methodology. 

4. Costs

Nakakagulat dito is yung mga ilalaan mo actually for the fucking program. As said earlier, time kulang ganyan whatever. Tapos we still have others like energy, tulog time ganyan. Meron ka pang pera kasi for sure gagastos ka for service kahit na kung ano man yan dapat tawagin mo parents mo for money.
