Pitcairn
Wtedy bylo to bardziej w kategorii zartu, takie no "musze sie tam koniecznie kiedys wybrac", a Stary pokiwal tylko glowa.
Dopiero wtedy polaczylam w sumie puzelki, ze to TA wyspa i to TA historia, a TA Brenda z programu to pra-pra-pra-i-jeszcze-kilka-wnuczka Fletchera Christiana.
W sumie krotko po tym, w lutym 2025 stal sie cud. Biuro podrozy, ktore organizuje podroze geocachingowe, wyslalo reklame swoich kolejnych celow.
Bylismy wtedy akurat w Hiszpanii, w polowie drogi miedzy Walencja a Torreblanca (pierwsza podroz 2025). Przyszedl mail, zobaczylam tresc, pobladlam i wykrzyknelam do Starego "CacherReisen maja Pitcairn w ofercie! Musimy tam jechac!".
On April 28th 1789 The mutiny on the Bounty took place in the South Seas.
One of the mutineers was a Scotsman named William McCoy, although not one of the main mutineers led by Fletcher Christian he certainly had reason to be involved in the mutiny against the brutality of Captain Bligh.
On one occasion Bligh pointed a pistol at the head of McCoy and threatened to shoot him for not paying attention. We know almost nothing of his early life, but he appears to have been an employee of a Scottish distillery at one point.
William McCoy was 5'6" tall, fair complexion, light brown hair with a heavy beard, sounds like the typical Scot eh! He was strong-made, had a scar where he had been stabbed in the belly, and a small scar under his chin. He was heavily tattooed all over his body. Another pointer to him being a Scot was the fact that he is said to be the one who discovered how to distill alcohol from one of the island fruits on Pitcairn.
McCoy, became an alcoholic along with a Matthew Quintal and finally ended his life by jumping off a cliff in a drunken frenzy, although this is disputed in the story in this article , which does say he is buried on the island in an unmaked grave.

CR 2973; Pitcairn, PA; October 1981
In the spring of 1981, PennDot shut down the Parkway East for a rebuilding project. Their solution to this were commuter trains that ran between Pittsburgh and Greensburg. The power for these trains were U36B units on both ends. The train ran only from March to November of 1981, so this scene at Pitcairn of the Parkway Limited that October may very well have been one of the last scenes captured of this unique train.
