What is a pitch deck? -> a presentation designed to sell your story. frequently used to pitch series/films to studios in Hollywood (I have created decks pitched at apple, netflix, disney and more!)

It is a fun way to collect your visual inspiration (kind of like a fancier, laid out Pinterest board!) and to share your idea with your friends and/or followers. i also find them an incredibly valuable way to develop your idea fully via both text and image.

In the Hollywood world, these are in-house documents shared with agents and executives, almost never made available to the public, that frequently use actors and screenshots from already-existing films to give an idea of the "look" of the project. And hey... if you are actually planning on pitching your story to Hollywood, I can help you get started.

ITS DONE

THE ARROWS PITCH DECK IS COMPLETE!!!!

this includes: . the pitch itself . my intentions and reasons behind choices . my dev log (from the day the idea was created to when i finished up the last thing for my assignment! because i havent done anything since-) . behind the scenes stuff! rough sketches, process stuff, initial colour concepts etc

ill give a warning now, youre not able to adjust anything for mobile view on canva, and the 'resize for mobile' option just messes everything up- so i had to switch that off, which means if youre looking at it on mobile you may need to zoom in/ out a lot- and i sincerely apologise for this ._.

im most confident with canva when it comes to website stuff, cause its the only thing ive been able to successfully use without too much confusion- HOWEVER, if i get more confident with another website, i may move everything there just so everythings nicer and more professional and all (and ill hopefully be able to fix the mobile issue too-)

other than that though, feel free to check it out and leave any comments! im putting this project on hold for now, but id love to get some feedback so i can look into them when i do get back to this!!! cause if i am making this my final year uni project (which im currently very tempted to), i want to get it as perfect as i can : 3

Ever wonder what a pitch deck for an audio drama might look like? Ever wonder why the hell you'd need one? Well, come along on this journey as I build mine live on the website. I'll be updating nightly as it progresses. With a few more changes to the website, I'll also add in navigation that will allow you to see previous versions of the slides so you can see how they progressed from start to finish. Why would an audio drama need a pitch deck? Well, it's a great resource to sell the story to folks (like networks) who generally don't have time to listen to everything that lands in their inbox. And I intend to land Heartglass with a network, as the additional support in marketing will allow me focus more on creating the show and less on growing it.

A pitch deck should be consumable in 10 minutes or less, and you should be able to understand the mood of the show just flipping through the pages. It also serves as a great shorthand for talking about your show with people that don't know it. I started yesterday, finishing the cover page (below) and the "hook" page, which is just a page designed to tell a reader why they should care about what you're pitching. It's meant as a teaser.

Today, I completed the 3rd and 4th pages—the "Logline" page and the "Synopsis" pages respectively. These describe your show in one sentence, and then a little more in depth (provided you haven't lost your audience already).

You can see examples of those on the website for Heartglass. I'll be updating other things there that might not be typical fare for every indie audio drama, as well as going a little more in depth on the tools and the process I used to create these.

I'm not an expert, but I'm not exactly an amateur, either. I have done a lot of research and I used a pitch deck to land The Dope Show with Bloody Disgusting before a single episode was done being produced. Either way, this should be a fun thing to watch get built, and I ultimately hope this helps someone else grow their show too!
