INVITED // UBE - Limited edition waffle: Purple Bliss 💜 featuring Ube (purple yam), taro ice cream with shavings of coconut and almond flakes with raspberry coulis (aud17) - choice of Brussels or Liege waffles. So glad it’s finally here and the flavour combination of ube with condensed milk, taro ice cream, toasted coconut, almond flakes and tangy raspberry coulis worked well together. Love that it wasn’t overly sweet. The taro ice cream is so creamy and stretchy. Still my favourite waffle place in town - the quality and amount of detail in their presentation is 💯. INVITED // Cashewal Affair: cashew butter, milk chocolate callebaut sauce, strawberries, banana, caramelised cashews and whipped cream in both Brussels and Liege waffles; aud13 each from Pitcher & Iron, Subiaco. Menu on @perthfoodmenu or click #PFR_PitcherandIron Love this relatively new addition to Pitcher & Iron’s menu. Nutty with a hint of saltiness, love the cashew butter and crunchy caramelised cashews. Balanced with fresh strawberries and banana slices. Both type of waffles worked well with this flavour, the Liege was more dense and filling while the Brussels was airy and crisp. Personally I prefer the Brussels waffles as always. WAFFLES FOR DAYS 🧇 // Tropicana (seasonal mango; aud15) and Strawberry Fields (aud15) from Pitcher & Iron, Subiaco. Menu on @perthfoodmenu (posted 15 Feb 2020). So glad Pitcher & Iron is back open. They offer two types of waffles - Liege (more dense) and Brussels (lighter). We ordered the Tropicana with Brussels waffles and Strawberry Fields with Liege waffles. Both the ice creams are so creamy. This is my favourite waffles place in Perth - we went on Valentine’s Day where they had a special promotion whereby the second waffle was 50% off. The waffles are delicious enough to not need discounts imo yet the guys at P&I are generous enough to keep coming out with promotions. BRUNCH WAFFLES ANYONE? Pitcher and Iron Subiaco has extended their brunch menu for two more weeks until 16 June 2019 - that’s six more days left of their waffles (only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9am-2pm). Menu on @perthfoodmenu Chicken bites waffle ($21; first photo) is our favourite! Also tried the French Toast ($16) which is really unique - it is rolled French toast stuffed with three flavours (Nutella, peanut butter banana, berries) and a scoop of ice cream of your choice (we picked Honeycomb). Third pic features the Spicy Pork Waffle ($20): chilli marinated pork with fried egg and salads on their signature Liege waffle: look at that gooey yolk ooze!
