Biggest pet peeve of mine is when they change the cover of the book to look like the movie. Even if I love the movie! It's almost always replacing a very charming cover made or chosen by the author with a screenshot of some actor's face.

I've begun reading "A Study in Scarlet" for the first time and by far my favorite revelation in the first 2 chapters is that Sherlock Holmes, infamous genius that he is, is simply not aware that the earth orbits the sun. Not out of period-typical denial, ignorance, or stupidity, but out of pure stubbornness and utilitarian refusal to retain any information that he doesn't find personally relevant.

I wish herbal/spiritual stores would have some sort of sensory friendly day where they don't burn incense, because I love stores like that (I make my own herbal tea blends and collect minerals and crystals) but I can never go into those stores when my family does because the incense smoke makes me so ill. :(
