The French toy company Pixi has taken on the daunting task of recreating the entire Bayeux tapestry, an embroidery work spanning 70 metres, in 1/2 scale.

For this, they have exceptionally put aside their usual traditional sculpting to opt for computer-assisted 3D sculpting. Then, the figures are cast in tin and handpainted.

The first ten metres of this amazing project are currently on display at the tapestry museum of Bayeux until the end of May 2025.
