You wouldn’t happen to have any additional headcanons for demigods of Clio?
A/N: For you Alto, I have dug through my notebooks and researched more on Clio. Here are just a few ideas that I had that I couldn't fit in the CLIO DEMIGOD H/CS and some I thought of after I posted it. Hope you enjoy them!!! (●'◡'●)
Clio demigods are able to recite/sing back every lyric of Hamilton because not only is it a musical but its also History, which is like two things colliding. Whenever they see someone singing or performing Hamilton at Camp, the Clio demigod is always there and as a throwback, they also like to change things up for the musical by honoring the historical figures that were actually demigods.
Like how George Washington is a Son of Athena, and etc.
Obviously, an historical musical is the favourite of Clio demigods cause its combing musical performance and history.
Clio demigods have a detailed receipt of the people they've met and what they've done, their likes and dislikes and etcs. From their family, friends, and people they don't like.
Clio demigods are also great at remembering and keeping track of family lines and who is relate to who, both on their own personal family history but anyone else. This makes it handy when they encounter more demigods and the crazy family line.
"Forgive, but never forget"
Clio demigods have your own notes and records of something according to your interest/hyper fixation. Could be weather patterns, frogs, or even how many pickles each fast food chain and their locations serve.
They're great at note-taking, record keeping, and statistics as this all is all technically history. The Athena cabin regularly asks and confers with them about their notes.
There is a passage where Clio is able to know the hearts of the gods and the ways by which things came to be-
Maybe they are able to see into peoples' hearts, their consciousnesses and decisions that made them who they are today and what they will do in the future-
How would the Muses react to the discovery of a demigod by Mnemozyne? Why didn't she have any other divine children besides the Muses? Would they already know, or would they discover it on the day of the reclaiming?
I'd imagine the Muses would be pleased and curious about their demigod sibling, considering Mnemozyne wouldn't probably have the habit of having demigods or children in general. Maybe every once in a while since her choices in lovers is scant- so if she did have a demigod, it would be because that specific father of her demigod child stood out to her.
Even with Zeus, she didn't want to marry him or respond to affections at all, and only ended up pregnant with the Muses when Zeus disguised himself as a shepherd.
Which answers why she didn't have any other divine children other than the Muses, not only because Mnemozyne wasn't sought out as a bride nor in mythology, seems like she has any interest in anyone nor desires a partner.
There's also the thing in general why we don't see new gods in general is because gods themselves represent something, a representation of a concept. Hence, why children between two divine gods or even rising into divinity is rare because they have to become a concept.
So even if two gods want a child between them, it cannot happen unless said between two gods realms can create a concept together of either realms.
For example:
1.) Hermaphroditus, god of Hermaphrodites and effeminate, is a child of Hermes and Aphrodite, where both gods represent male and female sexuality.
2.) Heck even Deimos and Phobos as gods of Fear, Panic, and Terror born from Aphrodite and Ares makes sense because in both realms of love and war, there is fear, panic, and terror.
Not to mention, having demigods would be something Mnemozyne would be careful about because as the Titan Goddess of Memory, she also remembers everything and is keeps the family records of the Titans and Olympians.
Hence, if she has a demigod and even when they pass, she'll remember them forever.
With such a rare existence, the muses would probably already know they have a sibling; especially since its been so long since they've had a younger sibling. I'd imagine there would be a lot of sibling bickering between the Muses which blessing or talent their demigod sibling would have.
Ω PJO MISC. DEMIGOD HEADCANONS:
📚 CLIO: MUSE GODDESS OF HISTORY, LYRE PLAYING 🎶
a/n: Clio may not be the first Muse but I can respect the love of history so it was fun to write something with a power relating to history. What that is? You'll find out!
Also it clearly seems whenever possible I can reference the Trials of Apollo, I will out of instinct.
[PJO MISC + MUSE DEMIGOD H/CS MASTERIST: [AO3] \\ [TUMBLR]
Much like the child of Calliope, you are also a bard. However, unlike Calliope’s demigod, your specialty is lyre playing. Your fingers are more deft than them, and once you’ve played a song, you are able to remember how it goes.
With the muses, they tend to have a lot of overlap which can lead to confusion to which of the Muses specialize in; case in point where Clio and Calliope are often mistaken or placed for one or the other, so both you and the child of Calliope resemble each other the most and people will confuse you two for each other, whether as twins, cousins, or fellow half-siblings.
Unlike Calliope who sings and tells the deeds of heroes, being the demigod of the Muse of History, is different from Epics. Epics are basically telling the tales about a person, you don’t just know something about someone, you also know about everything about what was going around that time of when that person was in.
Not only does History come more easily to you, you are able to memorize past incidents and actions. Although you’re not sure if this is a factor in your memorization, with the help of music helps you along; whether remembering the music you listened to at that moment to recall back to, or memorization things based on musical notes.
You have the power of Retro-cognition; where you have visions of the past. This is basically the opposite of foresight where you see into the past and basically acts as a helpful reminder of things people may have missed.
However, you know the words “Those who forget History are doomed to repeat it?” yeah that’s basically what you’re role is. You remind those of the past so they don’t repeat the same mistake, and often with people’s hubris, end up foretelling the future as such.
You’re the least compatible with Aphrodite or her children due to the Adonis incident where Aphrodite was furious with Clio, who had chided the love goddess for loving Adonis, to which Aphrodite caused her to fall in love with Pierus, son of Magnes, who later bore Hycainthus.
Hey at least you’re distantly related to Hycainthus! (though you have no idea why there’s that one kid who keeps giving you sad smiles. Meg tells you that he is reminded by someone)
You also have the slight power to peer into someone’s or something’s history. Which may deter some people but in times it is very useful. You’re often to the medical ward at camp to see how a camper got their injury and how it exactly happened.
Otherwise, you are also called as a neutral party where you help settle arguments of who did what in a neutral way, before soothing everyone’s anger with your playing.
Out of the Muses, you’re the expert in Lyre playing; your fingers easily plucking in the string backs and forth, with deft fingers; as you regale of times of what once was of times of good and bad.
You’re also more adept in archery because of your lyre playing skills. Whether you have a taste for it or not, your experience and hardwork is shown in the calloused fingers familiar with string are an easy transition in archery.
I love to think that in camp halfblood children of muses have one big table in dinner pavilion near cabin 7 table ( as Apollo is usually depicted as their master and even specifically in rrvers he has connections to them)
Oh probably, but that's assuming the Muses demigods can only fit on one table 🤔
They probably would do it to group the Muses demigods together as a reflection of the relationship between Apollo and the Muses themselves; but if there are more and more Muse demigods, they probably have to reconfigure the cabin tables' placements-
since back to canon, even if there was only one demigod for one cabin, they have to sit alone in their table- like Percy sitting alone in his table at the Poseidon table.
The muses demigods are probably given the exception to sit together because the muses are often grouped together, but otherwise, it'll be like Percy.
