It's kind of annoying when people use Annabeth's abuse to justify her behaviour when Annabeth is objectively one of the least abused kids in the pjo books! People out here are acting as if Annabeth's backstory is the worst tragedy when people like Jason, Hazel and Leo exist. This doesn't minimise the hurt Annabeth went through but acting as if she had it the hardest is ridiculous.

Secondly, whenever Annabeth fans try to defend her position in the seven by saying her power is keeping everyone in line and being the leader, it literally feels like a joke and makes me have even less regard for her character. As if Percy, Hazel and Frank & Piper, Leo and Jason didn't complete their quests perfectly fine without her. As if Percy didn't manage 100% ok without her in TC while dealing with the bitchiness of both Thalia and Zoe. As if she wasn't a total disaster of a quest leader in BoTL, biting the helping hand of Percy and Rachel.

Annabeth has her moments but let's stop pretending she's all that great in HOO. Her only special ability is battle wisdom and Frank is also good at that. Percy is also decent at improv battle plans as well. And unlike Piper, who is also a pretty pathetic addition, she doesn't have any powers to compensate. The fault really lies at Rick's feet for writing her this way though.

I've been listening to the PJO books and i'm on the final book TLO and can now definitively say that I hate Annabeth and that that seriously sucks. I always saw so much love over her character - how she's an amazing strong female character and how Percabeth is the little ship that did and manages to outdo itself so good it even appeals to the gays - and I went in expecting that and have walked out not even wanting to finish the final book because I can't stand her. TBotL was her absolute worst moment but watching her blow up at Percy and calling him a selfish coward, RIGHT AFTER the guy found out he's suspected to die in less than a week, RIGHT AFTER a campmate of theirs died in front of him, all because he DARED to bring up another girl is infuriating. Mind you, a girl he's not even dating! A female friend, who he only brought up because he was worried about a deceptive attack by the titan army who is coming to kill them all.

That. THAT, puts her into a jealous rage.

I can't stand that Percy feels genuinely uncomfortable and like he can't even mention Rachel's existence without her flipping out. I can't stand that he was right! I fucking hate this character and I don't want to read the rest of the story if she's going to always be a major player. Sorry, man.

no hate to dior, but not having a muscular, plus-sized and/or stocky actor playing clarisse feels like kind of a let down.

was really hoping for some plus sized rep, especially after the abomination that was the movies.

Percy in TLT: *leaves his mother in the Underworld, imprisoned by Hades, to be able to fight to save the world*

Percy in SOM: *gives Clarisse the Golden Fleece even though it hasn't finished healing Annabeth*

Percy in TTC: *uses his one question to Nereus to ask about the dangerous monster instead of Annabeth's whereabouts, or even Artemis's, one of the few gods he's kinda friendly with*

Percy in BOTL: *endangers his friends' lives to protect Nico* *endangers ALL OF THEIR LIVES to respect a dryad's lake*

Percy in TLO: *holds on to hope even though Prometheus said that he could save his friends and family if he released it*

Athena: "To save a friend, you would sacrifice the world."

Fandom, somehow: *buys it 100%*

Whenever I see a Percabeth fan gush about wanting to see the judo flip moment adapted in the show...

Sure, let's showcase Leah flipping Walker and pinning him to the ground in rage like a stereotypical angry black woman. Don't be surprised when the racists come in full swarm to attack Leah for being a "disgusting ghetto black woman hurting her poor white boyfriend".

Why do Percabeth fans have raging hard-ons for this scene? Do they enjoy seeing Annabeth rage at Percy? Do they enjoy seeing Annabeth act like a total clown in front of their potential enemy? Would they call the scene romantic if an angry, jealous Walker judo flipped Leahbeth? I would love to see Walker hit Leahbeth when she gets all emotional, and for the Percabeth die hards to call it romantic 🥰. Why don't we go all in on the current trend and have Walker go through a full-blown Anakin-style meltdown and choke Leahbeth in jealousy over her longing for Luke to be saved? How romantic!!!

The Percabeth fandom is still sucking in 2026. What A cancer in the fandom.
