Pokemon is turning 30 this year and so am I! So I'm drawing myself through the years with my first starters!
Pokemon Diamond was the first Pokemon game I ever preordered! The bonus was an awful and useless stylus topper, but I still have it!
Nowadays Turtwig would probably be my starter of choice, but at the time Piplup was love at first sight. The entire year before release my brother and I were keeping tabs on the news and following it so closely. This is when I discovered fan websites! Psypokes was my go-to for so long.
The plot of DPPt is one of my favorites in the franchise. I love the grandiose vibe that Sinnoh has so much! Its been among my favorite regions ever since. Platinum is my favorite Pokemon game of all time!

You lift Popplio gently in your arms!!! I went for Popplio mostly because of the anti-hype, people were so mean to it when the starters were announced and I don't regret the decision at all!!! Primarina was so incredible.
Also I played Moon version!! So I played at night a lot.
Alola is one of my favorite regions!! I love the way it looks so much, and I love going between islands to see the differences. Its so fun to explore!!

How are we already at gen 8!!!
The latter half of 2019 was probably one of the hardest periods of my life. The home I spent my adolescence in was sold because my parents split up, I moved with my dad into an apartment, and I had gotten into a very bad car accident. It would also be my last semester in my second attempt at college before dropping out again.
I remember the Galar Pokedex leaking in the week following release, and in one of my classes a shithead guy was going through all of them and talking about how bad the designs were and how awful Pokemon has gotten. One of them he hated the most was Applin, lmfao, so it puts into perspective how wrong these initial reactions tend to be.
SWSH isn't my favorite in the franchise by any means, but I played a LOT of it that winter while I adjusted to a new normal (before adjusting to an even newer normal the next year, smh).
Also those stupid rainbow eyes are one of my favorite customization options ever offered. Petition to bring back the rainbow eyes!!!!

Our final entry is the look forward!! I love all of the new starters but Pombon absolutely stole my heart!! I can't wait for it to be the next starter of choice in a long and storied history! Just like I can't wait for Winds & Waves now that its real!!

I'm also proud to be turning 30 alongside this franchise that I hold so dear! I've known Pokemon for as long as I've known myself, its my second world, and I'm always excited to see what adventure it takes me on next!!

We've made it to gen 9!! I really enjoyed playing Scarlet! I even streamed myself playing the first four hours of it (and then uh. my game crashed lmao)
Sprigatito was love at first sight, and I'm so glad I called it being an Iberian Lynx from the get go and was right!! Meowscarada is definitely one of my favorites of the whole region, I love its concept and it was so fun to use, and I love a starter with a story as it evolves!!
