THE ULTIMATE PROFESSOR SHOWDOWN

Okay, so

A while back I decided to make the ultimate professor contest of ALL time. In an online hunger games simulator of course.

This will have to be in two parts because of the image limit but whatever

For our contestants I picked a professor from each franchise (apart from PL and pokemon because I have a bias, sue me) and I allowed them each one companion to join them in battle. Keep in mind I do not know all of these characters intimately or anything.

For district one and four: the professor layton franchise

For district two: the x-men

For district three: the powerpuff girls

For district five: pokemon X and Y

For district six: wordgirl

For district seven: tintin

For district eight: cluedo. (Yes, the board game.)

For district nine: captain underpants

For district ten: sherlock holmes

For district eleven: dracula

For district twelve: the pokemon anime

These people will have to fight in a battle... to the DEATH

Let's begin, shall we?

Immediately, Serena and Augustine are in sync, and quickly work together to get as many supplies as they can get their hands on. They know what's up, they know the dangers of this game and they know they need all the help they can get to survive.

Hershel, also knowing what's up, recognizes it may be best for him to retreat from the chaos to come and runs away from the cornucopia to avoid the bloodbath. He'll have to find some way to get his hands on supplies later, but for now the main priority must be to survive in the first place.

In all the chaos, he loses sight of Luke, who was occupied with trying to get bait for them to fish with (his father probably taught him how) although professor plum takes the fishing gear itself before he can do anything.

Miss scarlet, desmond, oak and poopypants all decide it's wise to share their findings before each running off.

Xavier wheels away, having read everyone's minds and looking to avoid a struggle (I'm gonna say his wheelchair is an improved version able to handle any terrain) and Van Helsing takes off as well.

Both blossom and moriarty take some throwing knives individually of eachother, in order to defend themselves later on.

Sherlock holmes finds a shovel, which he takes with him.

Becky is absolutely desperate to get her hands on some food, so she breaks utoniums nose out of necessity when he doesn't let go of the bread basket.

Pikachu does the same thing to Jonathan Harker though I suspect it was an accident because Jonathan is a victorian and they are fragile.

Scott summers mercilessly slaughters a child with the sword he just found (what the fuck scott) but to be fair to him melvin is the world's most annoying child.

Professor calculus and dr two-brains flee as well, and Raymond grabs a sword in the meantime.

Professor poopypants chases professor utonium (presumably trying to kill him) but utonium gets away.

Professor plum receives fresh food from a sponsor, so it looks like he didn't need that fishing gear after all. No one tell Luke.

Hershel and Jonathan Harker (probably getting along quite nicely because of their gentlemanly demeanors) have a conversation, and pikachu overhears them. He doesn't understand them too well, what with being a pokemon.

Serena calls out for Sycamore and finds him, albeit a different Sycamore. Desmond would turn her away or get rid of her, but he can't help but be reminded of his own daughter when he sees her face. He agrees to hunt off some of the other tributes together with her.

Where is the actual Augustine Sycamore, you ask? He's currently occupied with trying to chase blossom across the arena, which is especially difficult because she's capable of flight. He must be a damned good sprinter, though, because she's frantic enough to sprain her ankle during the chase. She ultimately gets away.

Luke Triton gets into a fight with Scott Summers and ACTUALLY MANAGES TO WIN. Staying true to what Hershel has always taught him, though, he refuses to take the man's life and lets him go.

Xavier comes across Tintin practicing his fighting skills and is so freaked out when he reads his mind that he immediately speeds off in the other direction.

Twobrains gets himself some food from a sponsor while Becky is off to gather firewood.

Van Helsing, Calculus and Moriarty all try to sleep through the entire day, seperate of eachother.

A cannon shot can be heard in the distance, as Melvin from Captain underpants is the only one who died on the first day.

Cyclops starts a fire with his laservision. Hershel sees his fire, but doesn't come out of his hiding place.

Twobrains (clumsy as he is) is unable to start a fire even with the firewood that Becky got them and has to sleep in the cold. Becky receives medical supplies for them in the meantime.

Xavier, Serena and Utonium sing songs together to lift the mood a bit.

Sherlock and moriarty have decided to put aside their differences and sleep in shifts.

Miss scarlet, calculus, and Luke all discuss the games so far, worried about what could happen the next day. Perhaps they talk strategies too.

Augustine Sycamore sets off an explosive, killing the still-sleeping Van Helsing and taking away my only Dutch representation.

Professor oak begs to be killed by Jonathan Harker (probably because he doesn't want to watch so many people die) but Jonathan refuses as he is a man of principle and wouldn't kill someone for no good reason.

Professor poopypants is unable to start a fire either.

Desmond Sycamore and Professor Plum are forced to fight Blossom and Tintin. The matchup spells their doom as professor plum has zero combat training and Desmond can hardly fight Tintin as WELL as a superpowered girl with laser vision at the same time, and they perish. There is now only one Sycamore left in the games. RIP plum as well, he never got to use that fishing hear.

Raymond is so distraught at the loss of Desmond that the intense amount of grief weighing on his mind and eating at him causes him to question his sanity. He's inconsolable.

Sherlock holmes manages to catch xavier off guard when he's talking to Luke, throwing one of Moriarty's throwing knives into his skull. They throw knives at Luke as well, but he dodges them and manages to throw one that he picked up off the ground back into Moriarty's chest.

Twobrains and Becky are approached by Calculus and Oak, who suggest raiding Augustine's camp while he's off hunting. They both agree and proceed to do so.

Poopypants and Jonathan Harker have an argument and Raymond overhears them, but says nothing.

Tintin receives medical supplies from a sponsor, which he can put to good use after the fight from the night before.

Hershel, who has presumably not had much food in the last few days and has been hiding constantly, continues to be unable to find Luke and starts to thoroughly question his sanity.

5 cannon shots can be heard, as Abraham Van Helsing from bram stoker's Dracula, Desmond Sycamore from the professor layton series, Professor Plum from Cluedo, Charles Xavier from the X-men, and James Moriarty from the sherlock holmes novels have all died today.

Raymond, poopypants, pikachu and oak all tell eachother ghost stories, most likely to cheer Raymond up after losing Desmond. Perhaps it helps a little, who knows. No one really understands pikachu's attempt at a horror story but they force themselves to nod along anyway.

Hershel and Scott run into eachother. Neither of them are in any mental state to fight and they converse about those still left in the game. Hershel learns that Luke is still alive, and that he was the one who spared Scott before. He is very relieved, and the news lightens the mental load somewhat.

Luke and Becky bump into eachother and being around the same age, they click enough to decide to call a truce for the night. I can imagine them getting along quite nicely and maybe even becoming friends.

Miss scarlet is so tired from looking for a water source during the daytime she climbs a tree to rest.

Utonium goes out and destroys Sherlocks supplies at night after sleeping for the whole day.

Augustine sycamore receives an explosive from a sponsor (presumably with the intensions for him to blow up another person like he did Van Helsing).

Serena (who is surpisingly good at endearing herself to everyone and managing not to die) holds hands with Twobrains as a gesture of goodwill.

Calculus finds himself all alone and cries himself to sleep.

Utonium and miss scarlet decide to split up to look for resources together.

While Luke is with Becky and Twobrains (who he now has a truce with), Hershel happens to stumble across them! Him and Luke no doubt have a tearful reunion, and Luke introduces him to his new allies. Becky decides that she will stay back and construct a shack for the four of them (because she'll likely get it done the fastest), while the other three go out and hunt for other tributes. The others agree and head out.

Scott summers and Jonathan Harker get into a fight and Scott bashes Jonathan's skull against a rock several times, ultimately killing him. There are now no more people left on team Dracula.

Tintin is starting to get homesick, and thinks about it more and more.

Raymond tends to Sherlock's wounds, perhaps because the man reminds him a bit of Desmond.

Calculus (unable to catch a break) has his camp raided by Pikachu, Blossom, Poopypants and Serena when he's out hunting after he had already cried himself to sleep the night before.

Professor Augustine Sycamore dies as he lived, in an explosion he himself triggered. Specifically by stepping on a landmine.

There are now no more Sycamores left in the games.

Yes, you ! Are you a fan of the Professor Layton franchise ? If not, then this won't probably get your interest, but if you are, then this post is probably for you !

For some time now, an artist from Switzerland has been writing a very good fancomic about the franchise, focusing on Desmond Sycamore and on the huge gap there is between the games (mostly Azran legacy) and the blanks there are in the lore, especially regarding Targent and the Azran civilisation. And so, that artist had been going with her fancomic, including references, puzzles, little animations and a major mystery in it.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you a Professor Layton fancomic : Miss Camelia and the Edenstone Golem !

Summary :

Camelia is a young girl who lives in a small town in England named Edenstone. One day, a tragedy occurs : her beloved uncle Grayson is brutally murdered in his mansion, soon after a mysterious stele was discovered inside the coal mine of the town, attracting a lot of researchers in Edenstone. Neil, Camelia's brother, is the one in charge of the investigation, but soon enough things get more complicated than it seems and everyone is suspected.

Desmond Sycamore, a young archaeology student, finds himself surrounded by other researchers and not all of them are giving him a nice welcome, especially because he's the youngest of the team... and he is also full of secrets. Soon enough, Camelia is intrigued by the young man, and the more the investigation goes on and the more complicated this story gets.

Who could the culprit be ? A researcher who is planning to get his hand on the stele ? A member of the police to stop old files to get back from the archives ? The mayor because of some economical and political views ? Someone seeking the heritage ? And things manage to take an unexpected turn when some men in uniforms seemed to get closer to the stele... and from the big mysteries buried in this coal mine.

-> Indeed, this work features a lot of oc's and they are all incredibly interesting, adding to the mysteries surrounding the whole plot and the whole story. The artsyle is heavily inspired by the Layton universe artstyle and the plot can remind you of Agatha Christi's novels, where all characters aren't reliable and where everyone is an ideal culprit~
