I finda da egg🥚
Cute lil bunny Leonard 🐇
And, as always, I will post this with no context whatsoever, even if @mirza-majoris knows eheh 👀
Leon Bronev accepts his kids’ genders/sexualities but he LOATHES all of them, just the same. Bro does not care if Des is trans or Layton is ace or if Emmy is bi. If they stand in his way or they fail him, he will eliminate them, regardless.
What’s that? Desmond Sycamore has a husband and not a wife? Same outcome. Nothing changes.
The Azran emissary doesn’t want to be referred to as ‘girl’ anymore? Fine. Still unleashing the Azran Legacy—
Swift has a crush on Bronev? Rook and Bishop are dating? Emmy has a girlfriend? Whatever, just get the job done.
I am once again wishing you a happy pride month
@angulardoor's Callum Bran and @justkillingthyme's Magpie. Because they're awesome
Hey you ! 🫵 🎩
Yes, you ! Are you a fan of the Professor Layton franchise ? If not, then this won't probably get your interest, but if you are, then this post is probably for you !
For some time now, an artist from Switzerland has been writing a very good fancomic about the franchise, focusing on Desmond Sycamore and on the huge gap there is between the games (mostly Azran legacy) and the blanks there are in the lore, especially regarding Targent and the Azran civilisation. And so, that artist had been going with her fancomic, including references, puzzles, little animations and a major mystery in it.
Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you a Professor Layton fancomic : Miss Camelia and the Edenstone Golem !
Summary :
Camelia is a young girl who lives in a small town in England named Edenstone. One day, a tragedy occurs : her beloved uncle Grayson is brutally murdered in his mansion, soon after a mysterious stele was discovered inside the coal mine of the town, attracting a lot of researchers in Edenstone. Neil, Camelia's brother, is the one in charge of the investigation, but soon enough things get more complicated than it seems and everyone is suspected.
Desmond Sycamore, a young archaeology student, finds himself surrounded by other researchers and not all of them are giving him a nice welcome, especially because he's the youngest of the team... and he is also full of secrets. Soon enough, Camelia is intrigued by the young man, and the more the investigation goes on and the more complicated this story gets.
Who could the culprit be ? A researcher who is planning to get his hand on the stele ? A member of the police to stop old files to get back from the archives ? The mayor because of some economical and political views ? Someone seeking the heritage ? And things manage to take an unexpected turn when some men in uniforms seemed to get closer to the stele... and from the big mysteries buried in this coal mine.
-> Indeed, this work features a lot of oc's and they are all incredibly interesting, adding to the mysteries surrounding the whole plot and the whole story. The artsyle is heavily inspired by the Layton universe artstyle and the plot can remind you of Agatha Christi's novels, where all characters aren't reliable and where everyone is an ideal culprit~
If you want to know more, to read it and to join, here is where you can find the comic :
[Disclaimer : the art is not mine, it belongs to its rightful creator, Mizusawa]
The story is posted on Facebook and Instagram while there are bonus videos on the YouTube channel. Plus, if you desire to be part of the Discord server, you would be able to find people interested in the webcomic but in the Layton universe more generally, with various and nice people.
Don't hesitate to reblog and to share to give that artist some visibility and support, she's doing an amazing thing with an amazing community !
The story is available in French but also in English and it is an absolutely incredible adventure ! So if you're interested, don't hesitate and go for it ! ^^
What really gets me is that Sycamore probably didn't hate his father before he started to really get into Targent's goals and modus operandi.
He wanted revenge for his family, not towards his father. He probably studied hard in high school and at university still thinking on how he could save his parents from the organisation. But everything came crushing down when he learnt about his father's own position within Targent. Revenge was eating him alive but it was out of love, and then it became out of hatred.
day 6: obscure character
remember that one targent dude that opened fire on grosky who was only in one cutscene? yeah @layton-npc-appreciation-week
I went back to the scene where they talk about Leon and Targent to make sure that this isn't another case of me misunderstanding something in English again, but yea I think they're very much implying Leon caused Targent to be corrupted
Same with the Mystery text
This part always annoys me when I replay Azran Legacy. Leon could have made Targent worse, but he's not the root cause of Targent's evil. They were kidnapping and threatening people before he ever joined
(side note : I like how Raymond's first 2 lines also apply to Des somewhat. Like Father Like Son [derogatory])
This infuriates me as well honestly!!
The game literally contradicts itself, Targent was born as evil.
They literally separated a family and perhaps other ones as well, and the only thing that the game says is "yea, but it's Leon's fault." which is not true!
I think level-5 changed the things last minute, maybe talking about crime organisation and how the arrest of one (1) leader doesn't really stop the problem was a topic too dark for kids.
(strange since they talked about corrupted politics in lost future, and this isn't a kid friendly topic as well. Plus, Bill Hawks wasn't even punished in the end).
Also, about the two lines apply to both of them, god. Des truly somewhat became the one who hates.
Just like his father, he lost everything (twice), and he's completely mentally destroyed due to trauma and his past.
Can we talk about how he clearly has hatred for his past self, Sycamore. The fool who couldn't even protect his loved ones?
Descole, at this point, could be pretty much a mask. It was a role that he gave to himself in order to forget how much he feels guilty for what happened. A mask full of rage that became what he despited the most.
