planning for my future

why is it so freaking hard to try and figure out what I want to do for the rest of my life? It's funny because so many people just know they want to be a doctor, or they just know they want to work with animals. I wish it was that easy for me. I want to just know what I want. I have interests of course, everyone does, but are any of them really that realistic? Would any of them actually work out and give me at least a good amount of money to help me make a living and support a family once I'm older. It's so hard to picture all this working out for me. Especially me because nothing ever works out for me. But I just want it to so bad
