I usually visit my house on Saturdays to see what the builders have been up to and water the garden, but the builders started on the floor on Thursday and I wasn't sure if I could walk around in the house, and it's been raining a lot this week, so the garden does not need my attention.
So instead I drove to George (about an hour away) to get some stuff I'll need for the house soon. Bought new door handles (since I'm replacing all the interior doors), new window latches (since the current ones are hard to use and they don't all match), slow-close toilet lids for both bathrooms, and all the bathroom accessories (towel racks, toilet roll holder, shower caddy, bath tray) I want for the en-suite bathroom.
I'd also planned on getting towels and floor mats for the bathrooms today, but they didn't have bath sheet available in the colour I wanted, so I'm just going to have to order than online (at least I know which colour I want though!)
I also stopped by the farmer's market this morning and there's a stall that sells proteas and fynbos, and they had a Protea Niobe plant for sale, so I might buy that once I move in and start working on the garden properly- it'd be great if I could get it even half the size of the Queen Protea I currently have growing in the front garden.
These photos are of the protea bush in my garden.
And here's what a Protea Niobe looks like:
They're a really unique colouration of protea, I think they're so pretty.
