Hello plant people of tumblr, I recently bought this sweet little thing from Walmart and I have run into the issue that I have no idea what she is or how to take care of her. If someone knows what kind of plant this is, please let me know!

I’m looking for advice for my jade plant. I’ve had it for at least 6 or 7 years. He’s pretty large. But it seems like the branches are all hugging the edges of the pot now rather than growing up like a tree. Does it need repotted? Is it not getting enough sunlight? I live in a corner unit loft so there are windows everywhere but because it’s in front of this brick section of wall maybe it’s not direct enough light? Or do I need to try moss poles (I’ve never seen this done with Jade plants). Let me know what you all think. Alright guys I need help. It's only on this plant, none of the others. There are ants crawling all over the bud!!! What do I do? How do I get them off? Why are they there? Are those ants? They're all over the buds but nowhere else. Help please!!!

I figured it's the perfect time to share how I make seed starting pots out of recycled newspapers. Saves money, as you don't have to buy the premade seed starting pots and they only take a minute to whip up. Plus, you can just pop them in the ground when you're ready to plant. You can make these in any size, I'm making these a little big because it's to start my tomatoes! All you need is something round you can use to shape the paper. Cans work great. A little tape and some newspaper. Start by folding the paper in half longways, you may have to trim your sheets, but don't fold over more than 2 ply or they won't decompose in the ground quickly. Then wrap around the can of your choice leaving some hanging off the bottom to fold down and create the bottom of your pot. Tape the wrapped edge then tape the bottom. This is optional. You can also fold the top edge down to not use any tape but I'd rather just remove the tape when it comes time to plant. Fill with dirt and pop in the seeds of your choice! :)

HOW TO WATER SUCCULENTS IN SUMMER 💦☀️ It’s a common misconception that succulents don’t need water or they need very little. They do indeed store water in their chubby leaves and thanks to that they need to be watered less frequently than other plants - but still properly. 💦💦💦 When watering a succulent make sure that the soil is saturated to the deepest roots. Let the water drip out of the pot and empty the excess. 👍 Deep watering will promote healthy root growth, which will result in healthy plant. 👎 Frequent, more superficial watering results in a shallow root system and a less-established plant. ❗️ Drainage is important, succulents don’t like to sit in wet conditions for too long. ❗️ During summer it’s best to water your succulents early in the morning before the temperature rise. If the water heats up too much it could burn your plants. ❗️ During the hot summer months your succulents need more protection from the scorching sun. Their leaves will burn when exposed to too much sun for long periods of time. It would be ideal to move them away from the window for summer. Hope your plants are growing happy and healthy! It’s always a safer call to under-water your plants than to over-water them ‼️ And where is this promise of spring that has brushed us week ago? 😢 This sudden temperature drop can mess with your plants’ development. The most important advice I can give you is not to overwater your houseplants 💦 They take longer to “drink” during colder days and most don’t normally enjoy to have their roots soggy for a longer time.
