Requesting Any and All Ideas to help School Environmental Club

Hello! I'm the founder of a small environmental club at my high school. I established it last year, gained a few members, and was then halted entirely because of quarantine. Since my school seems to be easing back into normality, however, I feel like it's time to start trying to create some positive change ( within safety guidelines, ofc). I'm in a great position: I'm one of the only non-sport clubs in my school (so there's no competition for members), my school is fortunately in a wealthy district (so fundraising is v effective), I'm in student council (so I have a lot of sway currently), and my school seems to be v willing to cooperate. I'd hate to squander such an opportunity bc I just couldn’t think of anything smart, so I'm here to ask for any ideas from this community as to what I should try to do. My main goals currently are to institute recycling schoolwide (I'm close to completing that already) and to create a school garden where the produce goes to shelters (students would earn community service hours by managing it). I'll put more of my current ideas under the cut, but if anyone has any more/better ideas for how I should use this opportunity, I'd really appreciate it if you could share them!

Okay, you’ve continued reading! Thanks for your intrigue. I’ve already stated my main goals, but fundraising is obviously important too. My main fundraising ideas are to sell flowers at dances and events (sourced from local businesses ofc, or perhaps grown?) and to create some event for Earth Day (I don't know what to do for that that would be within safety guidelines, however). I could also do some event for Plant A Seed Day (March 20), but once again, no thoughts head empty. I'd also rlly love to educate my fellow students about environmental issues as well. For elementary grades, I believe that could be done with little challenges like "what class can bring the most plastic bags to recycle?" and rewards like picnic lunches. With middle and high school grades however, I have no clue how I would spread that info except for posters or something? I can't imagine that'll be effective. I've contacted local state parks and they don't seem to have many things my club could assist with + there's not many other environmental groups in my area. Overall, I feel like those ideas could work out for a decent year of progress, but I’m always looking for more experienced/creative people to critique me. I want to create a club that lasts beyond my short time in high school and continues helping my community, even after I leave. so i go to lowes a decent amount, right, and when i go i like to go to the outdoor plant section even though it’s winter/fall/whatever, not because i plan to get one of them but because they get a little sad, y’know, the plants that were meant to be sold in spring and summer and are still there get knocked over and no one fixes them and that makes me feel bad so i like to go set them back up and everything 

anyway i was there a couple weeks ago and there was this sad plant that was in one of those flimsy plastic planters that had been knocked over, and i sat it back up, but the plant was weak  and the planter was bad and it just fell right back over, so i was examining a little and it was a hibiscus! and i’ve wanted a hibiscus for ages! but it was so sad and so frail and hibiscus tend to be a bit expensive (at least for my nonexistent budget) and i wasn’t going to spend that on a plant that i was sure was going to die, but then it turned out it was on clearance and i just felt so bad thinking that it would die feeling unloved that i bought it, and it was really cheap and i was like “at least it’ll die in a happy environment” but i have to say it’s looking a bit better! i still don’t know that i can save her save her, but she’s perked up a bit and i finally got around to pulling all her dead/dying leaves and i’m happy that she at least seems happier

Just read a professor's notes that in all technicality, we share over 99% of the components of our genetic code with plants. Catch me out here trying to put the genetic sequence in the right order to become a plant and survive the apocalypse.
