Plants are so amazing! Idioblast from Dieffenbachia shooting out raphides (salt cristal sperars). The pressure from water rushing into the cell causes this phenomenon. #BOT313 #plantstructure (at Oregon State University)
My edamame (Glycine max) plants I started as seeds are starting to develop fruit😻 they grow up so fast #BOT313 #plantstructure (at Oregon State University)
WARMTH. WATERPROOF. FILTERED.
I plan to knit for warmth, experiment with PVC for waterproofing soltions and devore and dying for filtering
Colour in the Botanical Gardens
Whilst in Cambridge, i visited the botanical gardens and got inspired not by the plants and drawings flowers, but the plant structures and colours.
I can see a development in my work from goggles to using colour and structure of plants into the complex structure of goggles. The goggles would need to warm , tinted , have a strong body and be breathable. These are all qualities a plant or flower holds.
