Wall mural
I posted this kitchen pic at least a yr. or more ago, and finally happened to stumble on the rest of the house, including the whole kitchen. I love when that happens! Anyway, it’s an apt. in London.
I’ve seen that kitchen picture on so many different blogs, b/c people love it, but I’ve never seen the rest of the room. Funny, I pictured it so differently.
Such a cozy apt. and the plaster walls are great.

This has to be most adult wallpaper for a little boy’s room I’ve ever seen. But, it does work.

In today’s episode of Old House Jeopardy: I’ll take “Things I did not want to deal with this weekend or spend money on for $500 Alex.”
Wait, no. It will probably cost me $500 to get a plaster-lathe specialist in here to cut out the surrounding delaminated plaster (outline in pink in the photo above) and patch the giant hole which is probably just large enough that it can’t be fixed thus I’ll spending over $1K to redo the entire stairwell.
A small piece fell out this morning and then the larger pieces fell out immediately after...just in time to move the cat off the stairwell.
I knew this would happen when I bought this house a year ago, but I was hoping to have another year to save for and plan out how I wanted to do a proper rehab of the stairs or at least fix the half-ass patch job done by a previous occupant. Prehaps the wood lathe is okay...? Maybe? Plenty of ancient dried-out plaster can be seen and I suspect that the entire stairwell ceiling is dried out in multiple places which means more delamination sooner rather than later.
I don’t have energy or focus for this, and fixing this cannot wait.
