#Repost from @oneoceanglobal ambassador @plasticfreemermaid in honor of world cleanup day! Please check her out for awesome tips, suggestions and creative ways to reduce your plastic consumption. If you missed it yesterday consider having a mini cleanup of your own, or join us at @oneoceanconservation for one of our monthly reef and beach cleanups on Oahu! #PlasticIsTheRealKiller ・・・ Yesterday was #worldcleanupday 💙 A day dedicated to cleaning the Earth, with a focus on beaches. . Imagine if we all were more connected to Earth. If each & every day we saw trash on the ground & just picked it up, no matter where we were or what we were doing or who we were with. If we all cultivated some of this conscious awareness of keeping our home clean, perhaps we would start to pollute less as well. A connection made between inputs & outputs. Especially sensitive when we start thinking of ourselves as the clean up solution, we become a bit more attached to the waste we create. . I am proud to be an ambassador for @take3forthesea 💙 where every day is World Clean Up day, because every day we unavoidably live in this world, and every day we have the choice to contribute to a clean or polluted planet. . If you didn’t make it out to clean a beach yesterday, there is still today! Or the next day! Or the next. Organise a clean with your pals, co-workers, yogi tribe, or put up a poster in your health food shop to recruit helping hands. Use the app @litterati to contribute the specifics of your clean up to a global database that will pressure the top polluting corporations to clean up their act. . Beach cleans are a great starting point for the waste awareness journey. Picking up someone else’s trash is humbling. It also never fails to amaze people how much trash is left at the beaches of paradise. 💙💙💙💙💙 #bethechange https://www.instagram.com/p/BnzlSIcB82S/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=18xicnw3x3pl9
