I've seen people discussing if the Root rpg playbook has too much filler in it or not, and to me it looks like it may overexplain a lot of rules but I personally prefered that way. If someone is overexplained yes it will take longer to read (and probably the book will be more expensive) but at least you get how it works.

I prefer it over playbooks that barely explains how a mechanic works and Im like "how the FUCK do I use this".

And that's why I'm afraid of One-page rpgs.

Here's the concept art for like the yk poster design or something of Ruin: An Origin Story! Not really an artist so it's lowkey shit--but it's gonna satisfy me for now :3

Story:

In a universe not unlike the comic books, there are superheroes and supervillains. Between them all lays Oren, a person with a lot of shitty luck

Oren lives from paycheck to paycheck. It's not because they have a poor paying job, they're a very admired police officer. But because Oren almost always has their belongings and anything (or anyone...) they hold dear destroyed.

For whatever reason, it's always OREN'S car that gets destroyed in the process of defeating the villain. OREN'S home that gets robbed. OREN'S table at a restaurant that gets stuck with the food laced with poison.

Oren is always somehow looped into the major cases with supervillains, call it a curse maybe. But it does help with his job.

However, this most recent case feels different. More world ending. Perhaps after solving this case he can be gone of his curse. Beat it once and for all.

The geopolitical chessboard is meticulously rigged. Government, corporations, media, military, police and religions. They aren't separate entities fighting for your interests or your freedom.

They are pieces controlled by the exact same satanic hidden hands. The elite use their occult systems and the heliocentric matrix to keep the masses distracted, disempowered, and playing a game they were never meant to win.

Cut the strings and see the board for what it is.
