My name is Jay, my pronouns are any/all, including neos such as beep/boop, non/sense, and zip/zop and this is my as-professional-as-I'm-capable-of writing blog :) I have a lot of asperations and goals and this is the best way I've found that I can reach those--experience. Hi! You can call me Jay and I really love to write. My goal in life is to have a career related to writing.

Currently, I'm working on quite the passion project, and indie animation called Ruin: An Origin Story. I'm not a professional animator by any means, but I really want to be able to write a story that can be watched on screen. So I'm painfully learning 😅

On this acc I will be posting updates as I work through my projects and things!

The worst part about writing is when you have IDEAS and you're so excited to write them down but then you don't write them down right so you gotta finish writing then wait for the next draft to fix it.

I had taken a break from trying to learn to write music and revisited what I have because I'm going to need some instrumentals through the show and this is my idea/concept for the main theme

But uh lowkey, I'm really really bad at this. Like its catchy but it's not as good as I want it to be. Also I don't really feel much joy from writing music, it feels like a chore. I get this sound in my head telling me how it should go and all but im not good at reading music and it makes my head hurt.

So I'm lowkey asking y'all, if any of you guys really like writing music, would you like to help me? I have some things here and there I would hope to add but I'll give you most all creative freedom. And also all the credit for the music writing

BUT since this is a passion project that would be without pay I understand if none of y'all would want to. It makes sense to me :)

PLEASE do not offer if you're only willing to do it if you get paid because I legit dont think I could.

If worst comes to worst I'll like figure out how to hire someone or smth like that but that'll be worst case cuz I'm just not confident in my musical abilities :p

ALSO the app I used to write the music was some sorta composing app and it plays the song for you. I can barely play the Micky mouse march on piano lol 😭✌️

Was having an anxiety attack and I was like 'oh I'll do an animation exercise for fun and hopefully that'll distract me'

Still feel like garbage cuz it isn't as cool as I wanted it to be but I tried 😅😅😅

So at some point my brain made the switch of looking at smth animated and thinking "that's impossible I can't ever do that* to thinking "I think I can figure out how to do that with a little more practice"

And I think that's really cool that means I'm like one baby step closer to making smth.

I KNEW that the rug will get pulled from under me! My brain has now convinced me my story is shitty and my characters are boring!

This means I need to revise my script and outline and organize it so it's readable and have a moot be an editor or something 🥲✌️

But that's something I should be doing anyways. But I'm suddenly getting really scared of criticism 😭😭
