Mitsuba whines like a wounded animal, and as Kou stands up and walks around the table to get to him, he catches a glimpse of his eyes. Something dark and desperate lurks there, and it's the harshest reminder of the fact that his friend isn't actually human that Kou's received in a while. If it weren't for the clear unhappiness written across his face, the wobble of his lips and the shine in his eyes, he might remind Kou a little of Tsukasa.
“You're hungry,” he says faintly. “Actually hungry, not sushi hungry.”
Mitsuba exhales uneasily and lays his head down on the table. “No shit, genius." - Mitsuba comes to see Kou late at night for seemingly no real reason at all. Kou wants to find out why, but is incapable of saying no to his friend's every ridiculous wish along the way.
