So I had an interview earlier today. It’s with a “consulting” (aka staffing) agency, which normally I avoid like the plague. But I had a good feeling about this one so I’ve been rolling with it. I spoke with a recruiter for a phone interview last week, and that went really well. I mentioned that I’d been trying to get hired on at [insert local university] for several years and she was pumped about it.
Anyway, a day or so later she emails me and tells me that there’s a position at [insert local university] that they think I might be a good fit for, and that I should come in for an in person interview. I figured it was gonna be more of the same shit I’m currently doing, but I had the day off and was afraid if I stayed home I’d kill myself (post for another time) so I figured why the fuck not.
Anyway, today was an in-person interview. I think it went really well. I didn’t wear a wig so I could judge how they’d treat my hair, but everybody loved it. Even a people who weren’t interviewing me popped their head in and complemented it. So I’m hoping that’s a good sign that [insert local university] will be cool with it to.
Anyway, job sounds fucking awesome. It’s like a mixture of hands on tech support, training and working with students. I SUPER hope I get it. Apparently, they haven’t even posted the position yet and were waiting on me to see if I’d be a good fit and are looking to fill it ASAP. So, with luck I’ll be able to get out of my shit hole job.
