//I might do traditional versions of these with the original paper sketches but. Here, have the protags.
//**deeply inhales** I might have to make the mistake of contributing to the Danganronpa fandom again with the drawings I'm currently working on
i was training a young person at work, and she referred to sexual assault as "SA" out loud, and i immediately was like, "no, it's sexual assault, call it what it is," bc idgaf if the algorithm overlords have taught y'all that you should fear direct language, how tf do any of you expect to ever address real issues with any amount of seriousness if you can't even say the words? imagine an advocate looking a sexual assault survivor in the eyes and asking "did he grape you?" it's absolutely fucking absurd, but these young interns and new hires are coming into an environment where we deal with survivors of all different kinds of abuse, and they're coming with the mindset that the words are as bad as the actions, and that makes them shitty at the job and look juvenile af
i HATE self-censorship for a lot of reasons, but being in crisis work makes it even more frustrating. who are you censoring for? like i am being so fr, WHO are you censoring for? have you even thought it through? people who have been raped know that they have been raped. if someone attempts suicide or is grieving someone who did, saying "sewer slide" isn't going to protect them from any of the feelings. a murder victim's family isn't going to feel better bc you said "unalived" instead of murdered. if anything, it's just extremely invalidating and othering. it's saying "what happened to you is so bad that i won't even say the word," which is NOT trauma-informed care. you are not protecting survivors/victims when you self-censor. the ONLY things you protect when you self-censor are the puritanical ideologies that are being encouraged by rich fascists who want your money and obedience
say the fucking words, guys. just say the goddamn words before i go insane!!!
//I did this drawing of Shun forever ago and just never got around to posting it, so HERE
I’m honestly so tired of fandom these days for one simple reason.
People will focus so much on what they want to happen in a story, or what their headcanons are for a story, that it basically becomes the truth for them. So when a show doesn’t go in that direction, they feel betrayed and enraged at the creator. And that’s really discouraging.
Even with characters! Someone might like a character in a piece of media, and share this online with the community. But because in the fandom, they are not liked (whether it be that the character was mean to a fan-favorite, or just what people have speculated about a character) the community will find many reasons to try and convince them their opinion is wrong.
It’s like we can’t just have preferences anymore, it has to either be that you’re right or you’re wrong. And that sucks because fandoms should be the place where you can talk about what you like about a series and how you enjoy it, without being told you’re enjoying it wrong.
//One of the biggest pitfalls of the recent generations of fandom is that the people who want to write their own story-- and they tend to be the very same ones who latch onto their own headcanons and predictions that they get angry over the series going in a different direction-- not only don't realize that it's okay to just recognize, "I don't like the actual canon as much as what I was hoping for" as a personal preference, but they also tend to cling to confirmation biases that "confirm" what they want to happen, instead of the reverse of basing a theory off of what they already see. This is how we get those who try to write a dissertation about their theories as if they have a masters in literature when they also could never be bothered to actually pay attention to how to critically pick apart literature in their middle and high school English classes; and they *cannot stand* when someone whose entire degree was focused on analyzing literature (hi, hello, that's me) tells them that we're not supposed to pick things apart like that. There is no right or wrong interpretation so long as you back up your thoughts properly in the academic world-- and in fandom there is no right or wrong at ALL as long as you're not being a dick.
//That and we also have more and more people coming into fandom spaces who are mentally ill and need something to relate to but have never actually become acquainted with fandom etiquette, so in turn the etiquette is changing into something more and more hostile with every passing generation.
Can we stop with the character development. Where's my beach episode.

shoutout to writers of multimuse blogs! i know that sometimes it can feel like you get ignored or are a secondary choice for people in favor of single muse blogs of the same characters you write, but please know that your portrayals are just as good, no matter how many other characters you have! it takes a lot of technical skill to write a variety of characters, and not having a single muse blog doesn't make your portrayal any lesser. ♡

Any English translations up yet of DGM 257?
//I'm trying to avoid spoilers as much as I can until I can find a full translation, but I keep having to dodge the RAWs, lmao
//this is so fucking random but any of my fellow deranged PJO fans remember where in the sun and the star it actually stated how nico and will first met at camp? likewise I was certain that it was confirmed in the court of the dead what nectar/ambrosia tastes like to nico but for the life of me I cannot remember exactly where in the book. I need page numbers it's driving me crazy not remembering these specific little details
not an apologizer but a contextualizer. yes the character did that but please understand the Circumstance. yes they had other options but they had to make this choice in a sea of available bad choices. and also it made the narrative more interesting. won't anybody think about the narrative!!!!!
