This fandom is turning on itself at this point.

A small, very niche This fandom needs to stop with the hate towards Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande Butera.

I made a post about the great friendships of a few of the Actors from The Wizard of Oz and then later Wicked and the only interaction that post got was a comment to the effect of “You’re Wrong. Their relationship is all PR. There’s nothing genuine about those Narsciscists’ in regard to Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande Butera.

Let me paint this picture for you:

Just because they are already extremely famous actresses who admittedly aren’t perfect, I really do NOT think that constitutes purposely attempting to ruin someone’s perception of them.

And I really don’t see anything that either of them did that really constitutes that behavior, or the behavior of calling Cynthia’s Beautiful and Raw portrayal of Elphaba ‘Shrek’ like I saw this person joking with an anonymous Ask about on their own blog.

Before you comment, especially on someone you don’t know’s post, especially if it’s something so negative and downright wrong, please please please use the little marbles in your head for a second and tap them around a little until your shitty comment has something positive or even just constructive to say, or do not comment on my post at all.

Because the words of others are what sends people here in the first place. Because fear and bullying are what sends teems of people into this inbox every single day, begging for a moment of love and attention, the sort that you are so dearly trying to impair from it.

We have changed for people. We stopped using the asterisk. We have stopped saying trans man and started using transman. We have stopped gender labeling certain body parts. We have changed the font on the main blog so that people with dyslexia can read it. We do heed the words of others, when they aren’t being offensive to other people.

Or would you rather we follow your sagely example of sending and instigating hatred and giving one of the moderators a panic attack?

If this space isn’t safe enough for you, you may surely make your own. Carve a personal cave and live in it, cloistered from the differences in the world, away from anyone who might try, even awkwardly, to improve it. We cannot please anyone, and have been given substantial reason not to please you. We aren’t kicking off or punishing a moderator because of your personal preference. We have already responded to the situation that you are referring to, and clarified our stance on it. Just because you have a certain opinion about somebody or something does not mean it is true, and with the shifting meaning of words in this time of social upheaval, it’s crucial that people take the time to be patient as others learn.

We’re humans. We’re flawed. We know that, and forgive one another for it. I can only suggest you do the same before you send another word unto me, as I’m certain you’re not an infallible paragon of virtue yourself. If you have anything else to say on the matter, save for perhaps an apology for your rash behavior, please keep it to yourself.
