whew ok i dont even know where to get started here but i guess i'm gonna be serious for a second. i've been pretty good about writing fics for myself in my entire fandom life. i write the tropes i want, the pairings i want, the tropes i want. i wasn't very worried about engagement and people liking my fics. but recently, i've found myself worrying a little bit about that and i really dislike it. theres this rarepair fic (habs jake evans/nick suzuki) that i've been sitting on for at least 2 years now. and i've written SO much of it but there's this odd mental block in finishing it. then, i realized it might be because i don't want to post a fic that wouldn't do huge numbers. thats a disservice to myself as an author. so yeah, i want to work on that for myself and not writing for engagement but myself and like the 4 other gremlins i know who'll like it.

(this isn't a judgement of other authors and their motivation for fics, btw! this is just my own personal philosophy!)

worship at your alter by @plethoriall idk man. i think about domme!nate way too often. and the mentions of their past (nate making sure sid knows coming without touching his dick is non negotiable!) and future (nate suggesting sid "practicing" on other guys) are perfect. i read it over and over. a permanent piece of my (medium sized) american heart by crispierchip nate/ej. this one's just really nice. im not a huge kidfic type of person but this actually was so nice. ej and nate slowly but surely moving in together, raising this kind. love it

This was the first thing that popped up because I'm all about domestic fluff.

How long have you known about this?" Sidney asked Freddie.

Freddie busied himself on his Chromebook to avoid his Dad's stare.

"Frederick Cole Crosby-MacKinnon, how long have you had this assignment?"

"A couple weeks," he mumbled under his breath.

Sidney let out a sigh and dragged his hand across his face. "It is 8pm. It is snowing, and now we need to go to Dollarama for posterboard because this project just happened to slip your mind." Sidney let out a long sigh again. "Alright, get your shoes, let's go. Tell Papa where were going and bring the instructions because if we need anything else we need to know now." Sidney grabbed his keys off the hook and slipped on his shoes. ..... Sidney stayed up until midnight in the living room just reading, keeping his eye on Freddie before deciding to call it quits.

Once he showered, brushed his teeth, and got ready for bed he crawled in next to Nate. "I can't believe he pulled this again." Nate said rolling over and throwing his arm over Sid.

"He should have told us. He's going to Shattuck's next year, I don't know how else to reenforce these responsibilities, I mean this is just posterboard. Next year our baby is going to be all by himself and it scares me. Do you think we were this bad at his age?"

Nate hums in agreement, "probably but we can't win this battle tonight."

Okay so this was the second thought that popped into my head but I'll still post the other one 😁

Someone sent the link to Sidney, a link to a house listing, a house listing that was for the house next to him on the lake in Nova Scotia, Nate's house.

Sid refreshed the link a few times because this had to be a joke. But it was really Nate's house. It even had the enlarged picture of the two of them from that one All Star Game blurred for 'privacy'.

Sidney sent a text to his mom asking if she heard anything because he got this link to a house listing.

'Yeah, Kathy has been over there packing things up for Nate.' His mom replied and Sidney just stared at his phone before opening up his contacts to find Nate.

You should have told me you were moving, I had to find out from my mother. Thanks for the heads up.
