okay lemme get this straight, trysten/trysta absorbed OH and lady anaya (OH's mom) life force and abilities right? then OH was unconscious and pulled to a portal(?) to ostror. but, nothingness restored OH's powers while also transmigrated mc to this body is the medical center right? im a bit confused there. oh, and what is cadmus and atticus's role in the original story? and, is nyssa/nyala alongside trysten/trysta the one with "nova" powers?

now that that's out of the way, the update is very good with the expansion of lore, which i love. im very suspicious of nothingness, i have a feeling that they do not have mc's best interest at heart👀. but i might be wrong hehe. oh and the "boutique of flowers" i think it's suppose to be "bouquet of flowers" (?)

Let's go through the backstory together. Key details in red.

... ${try_boy} being attacked by a group of Grusik. Lady Anaya intervened, she forcefully closed the gates of Ostror, which resulted in her self-destruction.

A few years after Lady Anaya's death, the once healthy Eldest ${son} of the prime minister's household fell sick. The mark on ${his} wrists that once glowed ever so brightly turned Ash black. Many doctors were invited to the ${surname} household. But none had a solution to the problem.

Because the OH was sick, ${he} was sent to Grelior, a village in the swamp to the south, to recuperate. Months, and years passed and everyone forgot about the OH until the empress sent down a decree. Summoning the OH back to the Capital.

The OH remembered a couple of years ago when Lady Anaya sacrificed her life to save the ${try_crown_prince} and to close the gates of Ostror. She had crumbled to dust, after being touched by $!{trysten}.

The OH confronted the ${try_crown_prince} about this matter and ${try_he} point-blank admitted to being the one who killed the OH's mother. $!{try_he} sucked her life force from her body and stole her abilities.

In all honesty, this banquet was only a ruse to cover up, $!{trysten}'s dirty deeds. The OH was knocked unconscious and tossed into the portal leading to Ostror and that is how you ended up here.

That last line is very Important. The OH was knocked unconscious and tossed into the portal leading to Ostror. That line meant that the entire royal family and the OH family were the ones who orchestrated this plan. They were the one who had their goons knock the OH unconscious dilberately opened the gates leading to Ostror and toss the OH inside.

Lady Anaya ability "Nova" is extremely rare. Only 1% of the world's population is actually blessed with such an ability.

Nothingness restored the OH's body. Not just the ability. The whole entire body was restored. Remember the OH was ridden with an illness, so nothingness had to completely detoxify the body and reconstruct it.

What? Anon that line confused me. "While also transmigrated MC to this body is the health center...." What?

Anon nothingness is the one who brought MC to this new world. When the MC fall/jump into the river didn't you see a line in bold saying, "loading loading....."? The MC woke up in an hospital/health center because the OH's body was brain dead.

Cadmus and Atticus are minor characters. That's what Nothingness said when the MC asked. So we'll find out as the story progresses.

Trysten/Trista is the one who stole lady Anaya's ability. So Trysten is the one who has both the OH ability and lady Anaya's ability. Which is Nova and disintegration. Trysten main ability is fusion/absorption.

Nyssa ability is nullification. Every zenith is blessed with this kind of ability.

I'll fix that later on today. There's a problem with the stats page so I'll be fixing that today..... and ironing out a bit of coding errors. Also I am glad you enjoyed this update. I lost all my braincells writing this update. 🤧 now I'll rest for this weekend, because I actually never took a break from writing during the holidays. (Even a few person's that communicates with me privately urged me to rest) but I wanted to at least finish this update first. Not to mention I am halfway through to chapter2 already. So I'll be taking the much needed rest this weekend... to get my braincells in order. 😔.

Word of Honor Ending thoughts.

Alrighty, I think the time has come to talk about the ending of Word of Honor, it has been a wild ride being with the show and patiently waiting for new episodes. I can say that Word of Honor is one of those shows that DELIVERED and did not waste my time. 

it’s not a masterpiece by a long shot but the heart and dedication put into this production just shone through and I know even we as viewers could see that. As a farewell to the drama that kept my BL loving heart alive i’ll be analizing the ending, from episode 34 to the end. i might talk about episode 37 in another post.

and without further ado, let’s analize.

I will be dividing this analysis into 4 parts:

1st: The right things we got from our last theories.

2nd: The wrong things we got from our last theories.

3rd. The plot and why I think it doesn’t take away everything formt he show.

4th: two part endings.

Part 1: The Right

The first thing we got right is the timeline. Shen Shen and Da Wu stood up in defense for Wen Kexing’s rushed plan. They needed to execute it in the heroes conference as the important people of the martial arts world would be there to witness everything. Shen Shen had stepped up to confess that the fake death was needed to let Zhao Jing’s guard down which worked wonderfully.

To add to that, Da Wu also confessed that he was a part of the reason why Wen Kexing did not tell Zishu, and this was because he needed to rest and not get into a fight.

this lead to our second theory being right, Wen Kexing was understndably worried and decided to just not tell him the plan, it is unclear if Da Wu knew of the entire plan or if he was only told some of it like A-Xiang, that would explain why he did not get to stop Zhou Zishu from leaving thinking everything would be okay as long as he gave the medicine to Zhou Zishu to cure any fatal wounds.

I think that about covers the right theories we have, now for the pther side of the spectrum which are the theories we got wrong.

Part 2: Wrongs

First we have Chengling and shen Shen, we were wrong in theorizing that it was Ye Bai Yi who told him of the plan, instead he was told of the plan by Wen Kexing when he returned to Shen Shen to explain everything to him (Keep in mind this is when he had finally rescued Zhou zishu and Chengling undoubtedly finally knew that Wen Kexing was the ghost valley chief after he was dropped off) 

So this could potentially solidify our previous theory that Chengling sent that messenger in haste after he was told, it was already too late to call that messenger back when Wen Kexing explained. So what probably happened was Wen Kexing dropped Chengling off to Shen Shen, saved Zhou Zishu while Chengling was told of Wen Kexing’s identity prompting him to send the messenger and then finally Wen Kexing coming back to explain everything, and so that led to Zhou Zishu going out to search for him.

Second it was Wen Kexing who went to Ye Bai yi to negotiate on things and what to do to execute the plan. Wen Kexing only wanted to expose his enemy, not kill hundreds of people and this convinced Ye Bai Yi to help him, in return Wen Kexing will eventually shut down the ghost valley.

i think that is all we have for the wrongs, there is no clear evidence if the letter about the heroes conference is a clue to justify our last theory but I think it was just basically a warning to Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu and let them know they may be potentially in danger of being hunted down by Zhao Jing.

and now we go to the last part. The plot.

Part three: The Plot.

Despite the Romeo and Juliet style of things, I don’t think it takes away everything that we had built up with the characters. If you take away the “Not telling Zhou Zishu;’ about the plan part it wouldn’t changed the fact that they were all in constant battle for the armoury key. in my opinion I think the writer made the safest route to lead to the ending. the conflict may be forced and I think there could be other plots that could have worked, but in their environment and how things are in their situation everything fell OUT of place and INTO place at the same time. If you think about it, if Zhou Zishu had not taken out the nails there would be no drive or urgency to go for the armory to shut down scorpion would lead to scorpion king realizing he had been cheated of the key and would undoubtedly lead an army to capture Wen Kexing. and the cycle would continue UNTIL they get the key. If Zhou Zishu had not killed the scorpion King and everyone in their alliance on that mountain they would not have been able to reach the armoury in time to heal Zhou Zishu as neither of them actually knew JUST where the armoury is. everything fell out of place (episode 32-33) then fell INTO place (34-36) and despite which ending you prefer it is up to you to choose that is why we were given the first and second (true) ending. Ye Bai Yi had also started withering the moment he started eating normal foods and is happy to live the rest of his life eating happily after he had finally completed both missions he had in mind.

now we move on the the last part.

Part 4: Two Endings.

Okay, admittedly the ending in episode 36 left SO MUCH questions rather than answers and that was what drove fans scratching their heads in confusion and going “What just happened?” only to be bombarded with a second ending that completely said “Fuck it we going the immortal route, let’s give them a happy ending” 

The reason for the first ending is an ambiguous open ending. nothing was made clear and specified of the two masters that practice the cultivation technique made it out alive, and even Xiaoling wad depicted as a motherly figure even though Chengling said that he only saw her as an elder sister. the producers and screenwriters opted actually to have only one true ending and that was the two of our main leads being immortals. BUT this did not get past cencorship (sadly) the reason for that weird cut in the was because they had planned to to put the true ending after the scene of the kids walking away from the frame but since you know cencosrhip and everything. BUT if you look closely, Chengling’s lines are EXTREMELY over dubbed, if you take a look at AvenueX’s video where she talked about the ending and the dubbing and why it was confusing to the fans (Bless her soul) She had stated that because of production reasons again they had to cut out at least 3 to 4 minutes of the ending to please the censorship, they refused to have a sad ending of course and so with a lil bit of dubbing magic or vaguely translated words, they played the ending and made it an open one for the audience to interpret (this is one of the ways they had manipulated the loopholes of cencorship) and with hardcore Wenzhou fans getting their happy ending for episode 37 Thus concluding the story of Word Of Honor.

thus now we come to a close to our analysis for the last 3 episodes of the drama. Plot Breakdown

When you have a half baked story with growing characters and a vague plot, you tend be lazy with it.

But what really helps is a Plot Breakdown.

When you pick apart your plot, analyzing every detail and questioning every decision. It allows you to explore all the options available.

It lays out everything you know, making it easy for you to connect the dots and tie up your plot nicely. 

I use a method that I made up. It’s a basic model that I use for the core concepts and the basic goals and motives. You can create your own version that suits you better.

The first question :

What does the protagonist want?

And list the necessities in the order of importance. This helps you remind yourself to stick to the purpose and make sure the protagonist’s decisions and actions are based on this. This helps you to determine the protagonist’s major attributes and instincts.

The second question :

How to keep that from happening?

Now start listing every possible thing you can do to deter the needs of the protagonist (as listed in the above question)

This is what that builds the plot. It provides inspiration for the antagonist’s actions and decisions. It shows the direction in which the plot travels. It also lays down all the different directions you can go.

It sets the length of the story, how intricate you want it to be and how many sub plots to tie in.

The third question :

How to do that?

The answer to this question is derieved from the previous question. You decide how to practically make that happen in your story. You decide on the characters and setting. This part helps you with foreshadowing, betrayals and the human part of the story. 

To give you an example :

What does the protagonist want?  

First Necessity - The truth behind the unusual happenings.

What will keep that from happening?

First option - To keep hiding truths. As she uncovers one, the thread should weave into other secrets and unleash the bigger secrets.

How to do that?

First suggestion - Create multiple subplots and different characters who are related to the Happening or were causes for the Happening. Make some personally related to her and others a cause of human emotions. Some could be due to the difference in way of life

why nge isn't as confusing as it may seem

I don't get why people were so confused about the original nge anime ? Like yea there were no clear details of where the angel's wee coming from, what SEELE really was, how the Eva's were actually created and such (maybe these were answered in the manga, I've yet to read it) but to me the whole point of the anime wasn't to get into that story line, but it was about Shinji. Everything was hyper-focused on Shinji for a reason because we as the audience were supposed to understand his inner turmoil and experience it with his throughout the show. We saw his struggle with his father, his inability to social and connect with classmates, and the issues he faced with the responsibility handed (more like forced) upon him. The last episode was kind of ???? yea, but I think that was to reflect the chaos that was occurring in Shinji's mind. He was never able to create a need to live on his own and desperately searched for it through people such as his father and then later Kaworu. He mindlessly listened to instruction and commands for people because he wasn't able to resolve anything himself. He didn't know his purpose for existing and his continued existence, But then right before the series came to a close, Shinji determines his desire to live and continue on and that was the resolution of the show. It was a fitting ending imo.
