On one hand I like portraying Elena as someone who has a great sense of direction, since she grew up around woods, and was taught to find her way if she ever got lost. But on the other hand Elena not having a sense of direction is way to hilarious not to be true.( It would also make it extra funny with the cure arc when they are on the island)

Except From the Amber runs the hive au

This is from this post I made talking about how easily Amber could take over the hive. Anyway motivation struck, this is an older Amber right after she does it. The Hive was starting to treat people like objects and got that bias where because something’s working you don’t need it anymore and took away optimization (and made a lot of other Bad choices) and Amber went “oh god that’s horrible” she might be a little bit angst rn because she had to betray her hive. If I was to write more I think Amber would go to canon!Amber’s dimension but think she time traveled. Anyway on with the show.

Her dark cloak was hastily thrown over her shoulders as she marched along the corridor towards one of her meeting rooms, the black fabric billowing out behind her. She adjusted the cloak so it fell low over her eyes as she reached out toward the sharp-edged mind that was waiting in the meeting room before her. 

First time meeting her since the whole debacle. I wonder how much she’s changed. Not the girl I met on teen level anymore…

… Never imagined! Everyone always said she was so dutiful and I-

… believed it like everybody else, stupid. Should’ve remembered, should’ve known…

… glad she did it. It feels wrong but I’m glad. We almost lost everything…

She retreated from his mind. A single tear rolled down her cheek, mourning for the girl that he once knew. Head General Amber, leader of Hive England, knocked, and entered the room to meet with General Surgeon Atticus, and the ghost of a girl long dead.

One of us, probably both of us, is going to get sucked in to saving the world, and we’re not going to be there for each other when we need to be, and it’s going to end badly, because that’s how these stories end. I think we both know that this thing isn’t going to go anywhere good in the long run. “Thorki AU character lineup ...for the fanfiction that will never happen. I had this idea for a Thor Pathfinder!AU. Yeah, Pathfinder, that stupid movie with Karl Urban, Vikings with some serious steroid rage and the Native Americans. Basically, Odin storms Jotunheim, kid!Thor gets left behind and is raised (begrudgingly) by Laufey's tribe. I drew them 10 years after the war, when Thor and Loki are around 16/18 years of age. So, here we have from left to right: - Laufey, the tribal chief, he wears an old obsidian chest plate, red is the color of his house. - Farbauti, the sorcerer mate to Laufey from a different tribe and therefore he is not wearing any red, in fact the color of his house is purple. - Skadi, the old shaman... So old that the tribe's horns have evolved since he was born. - Loki, the firstborn prince and a little shit, he likes magic and teasing people, in this AU he has been spoiled to distraction by his parents. - Thor, he was left behind to die because of Odin's A+ parenting, he is not well loved by the tribe so he makes do with wahtever he can find, like that ratty Asgardian coat lost by some soldier during the war. - Helblindi and Byleistr, the second and third prince and younger brothers to Loki, like almost avery other child in the tribe they really like Thor and enjoy following him around camp to pester him about his strange hair and skin. Originally Thrym was supposed to be here too, he is Loki's betrothed, very ambitious and selfconfident... and a douchebag. I actually drew him, but he looked considerably older than Thor and Loki here, so I will probably put him in another character lineup set a little later in the story. I'm really sorry I could not fit him, he and Laufey are of a similar haight, and I wanted to show the extensive gamut of sizes of the Jotun race (BTW, you can already tell little Byleistr is going to be built like a brick shithouse). Also, he is very masculine in his appearence (by our human standards) and I was planning to use that to show the variety of styles in a single gendered race.”

Lena Luthor Christmas Idea #1

Lena shows up for Christmas ready to do battle. Her lips are as red as Rudolph's nose, her hair perfectly styled, rocking a green fitted dress and fuck me/kill you heels. Her grin is blinding when Kara opens the door for her, and she jokes (not really) that she's excited to actually enjoy Christmas for once. She waves at Alex and Maggie, nods at the wine Winn holds up in question before uncorking it, and grins at James as she's ushered into the kitchen with her bag of expensive wine and fancy cheeses.

When she meets Eliza, Kara watches eagerly, bouncing on her toes because finally Lena can see what a real, caring mom is like. And it's... okay. Lena smiles congenially, receives the obligatory hug, but it's little different from how Lena met all the department heads at CatCo. Utterly charming but reserved. Nothing like how Lena flops down on the couch next to Sam a few moments later, wine in hand.

It's not bad though, so Kara leaves it. But as the night goes on, Kara senses the growing tension. Lena takes a sip of her wine whenever Eliza joins the conversation, ensuring she would never be the first to respond, but green eyes watch Eliza like a hawk. 

And then it happens.

"You know I still can’t believe I never saw it before,” Eliza remarks during a lull in the laughter, gazing softly at Alex where she’s cuddled up with Maggie in the easy chair. "There are so many things back then that make sense to me now, but at the time I didn't think anything of it." Alex goes quiet, cheeks turning a bright red, but Maggie laughs, teasing her fiancee with a tickle to the ribs. Lena also smiles, but unlike Maggie, it doesn't reach her eyes. "Mothers don't always know their daughters as well as they think they do," she says. Her brow lifts conspiratorially at Alex. "Luckily for us."

The room stalls in surprise. Lena remains unapologetic, but launches smoothly into a boisterous tale about her ex girlfriend from boarding school, which then turns into a different story about Veronica Sinclair (not an ex), which hooks Sam into a gasp and "I think I met her once! I hated her!" and then they're all back to the races. Kara meets Alex's eye, but while Alex might have noticed Lena's odd behavior, she doesn't seem put off by it. In fact, she seems a little relieved that she hadn't had to respond to Eliza's comment. The next time it happens, Eliza is asking Sam about Ruby's father, when Lena joins them in the kitchen to refill her wineglass and smoothly interjects with how amazing Ruby's talent show was a few months ago. And then she slides into how amazing Sam is for nailing her role as CFO and raising an amazing kid at the same time. Lena's never seen anyone juggle work and family like Sam does. And then Winn announces trivial pursuit and Lena absconds with Sam, claiming her as a teammate. It happens again and again throughout the night: little things that add up to something fishy in Kara’s mind. She doesn’t say anything until everyone has left, but when she does Alex points out that she wasn't exactly rude, so what does it matter? It matters because it's Lena. It's Eliza who calls it first. "She was deflecting." And then suddenly it clicks-- Lena was the helicopter mom-friend. Anytime Eliza started treading on a sensitive subject, Lena appeared out of nowhere to redirect the conversation. She may not be able to do anything about her own mother, but she’ll be damned if she lets her friends’ mom make things awkward over the holidays. 

Eliza takes it in stride though-- she’s certainly not going to complain about someone like Lena Luthor looking out for her girls like that. She just grins and gives Kara a one-armed hug.

“Looks like I’ve got my work cut out for me.”
