well, that depends on your perspective!

chapter 19 is a pretty fitting ending imo. yes, i originally had another chapter planned to “truly” end the fic, but stopping at 19 isn’t like how stopping at chapter 12 would have been. it paints a pretty good picture, and leaves the “ending” up to interpretation for you guys.

i’m sorry if you’re unsatisfied, but i’m going to be very blunt and very honest here: if i write for free, i write for my own enjoyment. that means i will not be persuaded to pick up a fic which i’ve already stated (many times) that i’ve put behind myself for various personal reasons, and for a fandom i’ve more or less moved on from.

i have roughly 0 motivation for most things, and at times i even find it hard to write for stories i’m currently and fervently passionate about. so i’d rather focus what little energy i do have on something i’m interested in at the moment. this is for your benefit too; forcing myself to write something i don’t want to will result in shoddy work, and the ending of a story as big as syrm doesn’t deserve that. i’d rather just leave the ending at 19, where my passion still showed for it.

again; i’m very sorry to leave you dissatisfied with the ending of syrm, but i don’t plan on touching it again in the future. i learned a lot writing that story, and i’ll use what i learned from it to write new, better stories.
