The second is a bit more involved and is called Better Passives. This plugin separates passive mobs into two categories: wild and domesticated. All wild mobs spawn and despawn similarly to how they would in Minecraft beta. If you give a mob its food item (seeds for chickens, carrots for pigs, wheat for cows and sheep, etc), they'll become domesticated and will not despawn. They'll also be given a random name, which you can change by right-clicking on them with an iron hoe. This will allow more mobs to spawn in high-traffic areas, such as the survival world spawn, so nobody will have to complain about there not being any lunchmeat animals around spawn. It also makes naming animals much easier.
