As you already knew, there is no proper representation of DID in mass culture. But sometimes we have to recognize our experience in other places. Because some real and fictional stuff in our culture really looks like a plural experience. At least for us.

There are top 5 for our System.

💎Deemon and person connections in His Dark Material (both books and TV show) really look like alter’s connection in many ways.

💎Trills from Star Trek. I mean Trills with simbiots who also have the former Hosts. This experience is especially close for Ayman’s (our main hosts) new co-hosts, because in the co-front they suddenly started to have Ayman’s (and sometimes other co-hosts) memories and access to their experience and emotion regulation.

💎Alien and Human “coexistence” in Stefani Mayer’s “The Host”. Especially accurate if we are talking about co-front with an alter who is abusive/behave like a persecutor/don’t like you/don’t want to be a multiple.

💎Any stories about Telepathy. It’s about inner-world experience and connection between alters. And if this telepaths are faced with discrimination it’s also about ableism in our society.

💎Stories about tweens, especially Siamic tweens. This is the closest real-world experience that has not such a bad representation in mass culture that looks a little bit like ours.

I have to accept that I need notes to remind me that I need breathing and grounding exercises, or that I need to accept that I have the right to exist, or that I would have time (In Sha Allah) for stuff that is important to me.

It was difficult to accept.

I know that I have such problems.

And sometimes, when we were desperate or when our therapist reminded us to do that, it really helps.

But it’s still feel shameful for us to recognize our problems, to made this support reminders notes, to say to ourselves: “yeah, we need support”

And we have to decide that we wouldn’t shame ourselves for feeling this shame.

We would look at it.

Recognized it. And recognize that it’s existed because of the society around us.

And after that decided what to do.

Internalized ableism is a huge problem. In many ways it’s hunting even disability rights activists, and I’m sure that all disabled and mentally ill people feel it in one way or another during their life.

We need to accept it and work with it, not to ignore it.

We need to stop blaming disabled people for the shame and “you just need to endure it” that society is trying to impose on us.

And the first step - is recognizing such things in our own mind.

Because yeah, we couldn’t do anything with a problem if we would try to ignore or forget it. This is the main lesson that those notes on the wall teach us.

TW: kindergarten, child abuse, death of a kid

One of our Littles, Liza, remembered when we started to be afraid of society.

And, our dear leftist friends, if you read it, just try to remember. We were the victims of the post-USSR child indoctrination system. I mean kindergarten, where the only goal was to make us proper Ukrainian kid, completely erasing our real partly Jew, partly Russian (at least on the language and family history level Russian) identity. We were forced to tell that we are Ukrainian. That we love Ukrainian. And to be like other kids - without any rights for our property or personal stuff, our own opinion or our own difficulties. It’s awful for any kid. It’s especially awful for disabled Autistic trans child who couldn’t even understand how to lie. This is when our selective mutism problems started. And this is when Liza started to feel that no one here her, doesn’t matter what’s going on, no one would believe her, no one would value her opinion. At least not really.

It wasn’t just Ukrainian problems, it was all this “free and perfect” USSR and post-USSR child care systems that some leftist in the UK and USA so like. This system has only one purpose: erase a child's individuality.

It wasn’t about care: babies faces were ugly from crying all day long, and I know it because of personal stories. Some kids even died in child care in the USSR.

It wasn’t about socialization - at least not about proper socialization. The only response that adults gave to bullying and violets was “fight them back” or “ignore it”. Doesn’t matter what kind of violence it was (yeah, including racism, ableism, anti-semitism, ets).

It was all about normalization. It was about “broke people” and made them all the same.

So, dear UK’s leftist. Just zip the mouth and stop your “social state care I’m USSR” bullshit. It’s not your experience. And that stuff about how you like to phrase USSR kindergartens just shows that you know nothing about it.

So please stop supporting child killing and child abuse.
