She remembers emerging from her cocoon, fully pupated as a young bipedal troll, and making her way to be selected by her lusus. All of the other little trolls were connecting with the creatures that would raise them, birds whisking off with their charges clutched in their talons and plodding beasts being ridden away by gleeful young trolls. She remembers feeling a flicker of a maybe-connection with a small white rabbit that stared at her with empty purple eyes, but then she felt on a visceral level that something was wrong with that. She thought, suddenly, that she would much rather gobble it up, and it must have sensed her because it turned and hopped away then, disappearing into the throng of beasts and trolls like a ghost.She remembers how she stood there, the crowd dwindling and dwindling until there was nothing, nobody left but her and the very, very few jadebloods that were watching from the shadows at the cavern’s mouth. Then, she remembers feeling a gentle hand on her shoulder and that she had to have EXPECTED it, because then she turned and walked back into the yawning dark of the cave without giving that ghost a second thought.

I don't have EVERY detail of her Ancestor's story drummed out yet, but she was known as 'The Terrible Calamity,' and the reason that Plylym's so 1000% confidant that she can break just about any big brother out there despite being tiny, rabbit-like and frail is because she and her ancestor have the same inordinately, horrifically powerful chucklevoodoos.
