Headcanons for Peregrine Mendicant and Aimless Renegade
Peregrine Mendicant
has an aesthetic appreciation for pens, especially quill pens. she doesn’t often get the chance or supplies to write as an exile but when given the possibility, she enjoys practicing calligraphy and is self taught in the manner through experimentation and mimicry
related to her interest in the physical act of writing, she enjoys journaling and writing letters, though she doesn’t send them. she often writes but doesnt send letters to her old friends on prospit or to the people currently around her. it helps her process her feelings into things she finds more directly approachable, regardless of if the recipient ever receives it
tends to accidentally speak in some kind of poetic meter, though it varies exactly what kind. haiku and iambic are common (however, this is merely in terms of meter, she seems to have no such compulsion in terms of end or internal rhyme when speaking)
while she respects Windswept Questant’s wishes and believes in her own choices, she still wonders if one or both of them made a wrong decision
has an uncanny sense of direction. she’s like a living compass. always knows right where she is in relation to anything else so it’s very easy for her to find her desired destination. it’s not uncommon for anyone else feeling turned around to ask her for directions and even if she isn’t sure where it is because she hasn’t been before herself, she always seems able to point people in the exact right direction to head
Aimless Renegade
back on Derse, he had some pleasant acquaintanceship with the Courtyard Droll and Draconian Dignitary
has a habit of counting bullets; fired, unfired, loaded, unloaded. the running tally is not entirely accurate but still, having at least an approximate estimate makes him feel a bit more comfortable than being entirely unaware
even when not intending to, his speech tends to come across as accusatory or threatening (though this is perhaps just a common tonal structure found between dersites)
while it’s expected of dersites to hate frogs, AR is actually harboring a fear of them
despite having a perfect memory for the written law down to a t, since his occupation is presiding over the more cut and clean judgement of a crime he doesn’t have much skill in the way of a detective mind. sentencing a crime? he’s your man. solving one? less so. but he’ll provide his input, so long as jurisdiction permits
