LOLuhmmm, correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure a "thing" is between two people who like each other. Not one person likes another and the other just chooses to be nice to the other.
Honestly, if you were in that person's position then you wouldn't say shit. You think you know shit? You think you understand? You don't. Why don't you take it from that person's perspective and in respects to their feelings? And don't tell me "oh I know I would / wouldn't do this or that or blah blah blah" because truth is, you've never been in the situation so you wouldn't know. You'd be surprised at what you would actually do in that kind of situation.
