I am from iPod nanos and wiffleball bats,
from family vacations and sunny days.
I am from the countryside and bright skies,
with my two brothers and parents.
I am from constant sibling fighting,
from getting hit in the head with a metal baseball bat.
I am from serving at my church and every week CCD or Sunday School.
I am from the Friday night football games,
where I watched as I saw what could have been,
from wishing to making my dreams come true.
I am from the daily recess fights over a nerf football game,
with some of my lifelong best friends,
from swimming in the pool on a hot summer day and getting sunburn.
I am from the baseball games,
from happy faces to know we did good,
and ready to get back at it later on in the week.
I am from countless lumps and bruises from the baseball,
knowing that it was a good weekend.
I am from the infinite attempts at the perfect home cooked meal from a random cookbook,
as I quietly gag and spit my food out on the napkin that sits on my lap.
I am from big spiders and bees near the swimming pool,
from riding a dirt bike before a real life bike,
and enjoying the winter months in the large quantities of snow.
I am from the endless soap operas played by my mother,
and home of the bulldawgs.
I am from a collection of family events and many mishaps,
all thrown together so that I can share my life with you.
