The thing is, not every poacher straight up kills a pokemon to harvest the parts they think sell well. A some of them are left alive to be sold to some farm or somethin that harvests their parts that regrow back. Slowpoke tails are the easiest and least harmful examples of this, since they don’t really realize that their tails are gone when they’re chopped off. Even then, their tails are known to grow back crooked, especially if they aren’t cut off right.”
“Some of the most popular ones are pokemon with horns. Ornaments, folk medicine, you name it, ya can probably find some reason someone wants a horn from a pokemon. It’s already a tossup on whether or not a pokemon species can grow back it’s horn, but for some poaches that doesn’t matter. They’ll just kill the damn pokemon anyways, statin that they’d be just as dead anyways in the wild if they were released. Fuck, I’ve seen a few times poachers grab pokemon eggs and crack them open just to try and get some fuckin extra parts to sell.”
