Does it annoy anyone else really badly when people erase less conventional character traits in fics so that the relationship comes out looking better??? So the example of this that inspired the post would be podcast!johnlock (but tbh every type of johnlock), because it feels like people purposely erase John and Sherlock’s personalities to make their romance more palatable and I think it’s such a pity. No, Sherlock probably wouldn’t start being okay with sleeping in a room with someone else frequently or doing dishes if he was in a relationship, just as John wouldn’t stop being insecure or ignorant/insensitive on occasion. They’re people with flaws and, regardless of what the novels may tell you, flaws don’t magically disappear when you enter a romantic relationship. Let them be messy and stupid and imperfect and in love I promise it will be okay
