I do write for him, I just haven’t written much for Poe :P But thanks for requesting, here are your headcanons:
Poe Dameron:
When you were kids, you were inseparable
You grew up together and quickly became friends
Had a lot of things in common, thought very similarly…
You and Poe had a lot of inside jokes and shared adventures
But most importantly, you had each other’s back
If one of you got in trouble, the other was there to help
You supported one another, encouraging the other’s dreams
Poe wanted to be a pilot and his dream caused him to drift away
“We’ll see each other again, after our dreams come true, and celebrate”
That’s what he would always say to you
When you were grown up, your lives took different paths
Poe went on to become a pilot like he had always wanted
Like he would always tell you, fantasizing with it
With the many people he would help and the ships he would pilot
How he would be the greatest pilot in the galaxy
You missed each other, but understood that life got in the way
You were both mature enough to understand it was that way
You had different goals and hence took different paths
Still, you kept contact and would chat every once in a while
Things changed, however, when you once met him
After years and years appart, without even seeing each other
Barely even talking at all, he was suddenly there again
You had made your goal too, and had business with him and his people
Without knowing that famous pilot was actually Poe
You planned a whole scene in your head, your reunion
He would smile when he laid eyes on you and wave
Then you would run to him and you’d collide in an embrace
He would say how much he’d missed you, and you’d congratulate him
After all, his dream did come true, he was one of the greatest pilots
But when the moment came, he barely even acknowledged your presence
Poe even acted like you didn’t even existed, just like that!
Annoyed at this, you tapped him in the shoulder
So much for reuniting and celebrating your dreams…
“Excuse me, sorry” He told you. “I’m busy right now”
And just like that, he asked you to leave
You glared and scowled, hating that it had gone to his head
Did he really think himself so important to behave like that?
Cue months of getting on the other’s nerves
You couldn’t stand him nor he you, always arguing
You always clashed, not standing the other at all
Until one day it started hurting you, that you ended up like that
“Do you really not care about me anymore? After all we’ve been through?”
Poe stared at you in confusion, surprised by your demeanor
“Wait… Y/N? Are you… my Y/N?”
As it turns out, he hadn’t recognized you at all
He excused himself, apologized profusely
Of course he remembered your name, but he didn’t believe it
Poe had convinced himself that it couldn’t be actually you, his Y/N
To be honest, when you met that day he was busy
And he was a little absent-minded, having a lot on his mind
Besides, he refused to believe you were the person he wanted to
Poe didn’t want to get his hopes up that he had found you again
And just thought it was a coincidence that your name was Y/N
You had changed a lot either way and it was hard to tell it was you
But after that misunderstanding, you began getting closer again
It took time and patience, because it had been so long
And because you had been basically enemies lately
But in the end you made up and ended up dating
And you were happily ever after
