The shy, inconspicuous smile,
your lips curl into from a mile, set
my sinking boat afloat. Age old
masquerade, in a flash, refashions
itself into an honest mess.
The sound of his
damn smile, lulls the cacophony
of my mind to sleep. Watching him grin
gleefully, like vinyl record of cherry wine
playing on loop. Scatters moonlight,
his warm smile. Gateway to
my soul, it has become. Oh,
how deftly my paper walls crumble, at
the sight of that serene smile, echoing
his sacred name.
Midnight blues float in the air
Like quiet lethargic leaves
So under the spell of a wild wind
Whose siren songs lead them
Everywhere except the bed
Of their ochre coloured dreams.
Midnight blues hang like
A soft gibbous moon
Searching its star studded quilt
With passionate eyes
Amid a desolate sky around.
Midnight blues swirl like
A dense redolent mist
Venturing into my pores
As I inhale a deep want
To turn back time and feel alive again.
Midnight blues ebb and flow
Like rolling tears of a lonely sea
Seeking and sifting through
The barricades of life
To trace, feel and join
Forever with you.
When you left me alone,
I would remember
how you came into my life
and made me feel special,
until I wanted only you.
I’d close my eyes and
imagine seeing you again
standing in front of me,
the same old fantasy
that I would always see,
but it was never real.
.
Like those visions
behind my eyes,
you continued to drift
in and out of my life,
staying only long enough
to keep me from moving on.
I eventually realised
those one-sided feelings
had always been wrong.
So I took a leap of faith
into the sunset
after the storm, and now
when I close my eyes
I don’t see you anymore.

Rhymingtherapy - March 2019
(my photos taken yesterday)
Feathered wings true
Stashed in golden boxes
Itching to be again flown
To taste sky and breeze
And touch clouds again
Escape the bleeding throne
In the darkness, in the cold
The silence, ancient old
Midnight blues and blacks too
This bird wishes it had flown
Sunlight and clouds are too
Nostalgic, though easily torn.
- night and sleep are secret prisons
Crown Me With Flowers
1.
I walk around
As if I am dead.
Make me beautiful again.
Crown me with marigolds
And call me Catrina.
Dance with me
While laughing at my death.
For I don’t want to feel any dread.
.
2.
I awoke in a garden
Full of creatures made of carbon.
Oh, how they danced and sang.
They made my ears ring.
I would’ve never thought
That I would end up in that spot.
For I’ve been so lonely
Since everyone has turned me away so coldly.
.
The creatures seemed so happy
While I was so sappy.
They noticed my frown,
So they tried to turn it upside down,
But failed to do so.
.
Lethargic.
The creatures tried to bargain
With my hardship.
.
They resides with a crown
Full of willow leaves from the ground
And roses from the garden.
They asked me to pardon
Their unruliness.
For they just wanted what was best.
I abided.
.
They placed the crown atop my head
And then I went to bed.
I dreamt of a wild world
Where there were no flowers,
Just endless hours
Of men with gun powder
Abusing their powers.
.
I woke up sad again.
For that world was full of mayhem.
