and internally I'm dying cuz I've got almost 100x as many tumblr followers as he does twitter followers despite tumblr being "dead"

I really, really don't understand how universal basic human rights is not the BASELINE, the ABSOLUTE BARE MINIMUM for every political ideology, and why parties and groups that don't meet this baseline are ever allowed to hold any modicum of power

Gonna be honest, I don't really care for this post! I just.... hate the trend of screenshotting takes we disagree with and then passing them around with minimal explanation of why they're wrong and misguided, because, well, you should just be able to intuit what's wrong with them.

The sarcastic invocation of "normalcy" here especially grinds my gears, because.... I don't actually think all "normal" people have an intuitive - let alone consciously thought out - belief that CNC is okay and ethical. I think it's something a lot of people are instinctively freaked out by! I don't agree, to be clear - I think it can be practiced ethically, that being drawn to either position as fantasy doesn't denote personal ethics re: rape culture, and I'm a certified dubcon enjoyer. But like... let's not act as if huge swathes of people would come to that conclusion without serious persuasion. If we're using "normal" to denote "typical" or "common," then... most "normal" attitudes about sex are actually pretty bad, or at least poorly conceived!

Like, it's not even that this sort of thing "increases my shame," or at least not primarily. It just.... ticks me off, for autism brain reasons, to see signalling that something is or should be ~common shared group knowledge~ without any justification or defense of that position. Especially when, in this case, I know that many people wouldn't automatically agree or be convinced.

Anyway, working on my fanfic last night helped me calm down about this. But I can't say it made me feel great or vindicated to see it.

Very online take incoming, but it sucks when the tumblr urls of people you don't like affect your perception of the media those urls are taken from. For example, that guy on Succession has been ruined for me by association because of that annoying popular radfem

That tweet that's like "I wish I had more friends to run errands with, I don't wanna spend $85 on dinner to catch up" has me perplexed. Where on EARTH are you going for dinner, and who are you hanging out with, such that $85 is typical for a dinner out???

I had to unfollow one of the smarter and more careful bloggers I'd ever followed, because this person made a long post with, like, one subordinate clause with underlying assumptions that really, really upset me, to the point that seeing their posts on my dash in general was just starting to cause me pain. Fun!
