Atropa Belladonna || Homika and Janine || CLOSED
Homika didn't get to do things for herself the vast majority of the time. Between the gym pulling her one way, and the band pulling the other, in fact, she rarely had time for anything besides what was scheduled for her. It seemed forever since she had actually left Virbank for something other than a concert or some sort of meeting with someone. She was seventeen, still young and fresh, and more than anything, sometimes she just wanted time to do something new and exciting.
On one of the rare days when she had a couple of hours to herself, she was walking around Virbank. She had to be in disguise else she'd get no peace, so she was wearing shorts and a tee shirt for Supersonic, a band that was run by one of her closest friends, and one that was also her rival. No one would expect Homika to be wearing a tee shirt for another band. It also helped that she had no makeup on and that her hair was up, hidden under a beanie. Most people ignored her in this get-up. Just another grunge-y teenager on the streets of the city.
In the park, she took out her pokemon and let them out to stretch their legs. They shot off in different directions, leaving her with just her own little Minccino. If she was seen with powerful poison pokemon, it would draw attention, so they had decided to meet up in thirty or so minutes. In the meantime, with the cute chinchilla pokemon at her side, she decided to explore the park and see what the residents of Virbank were up to. In the middle was the lake, with a walking trail and picnic tables sheltered by pavilions. There was a big playground with slides and monkey bars and teeter totters.
Over on the west side, there were booths selling things from ice cream and hot dogs to lemonade. But one of the vendors didn't seem to be selling anything. It was being run by... several flying type pokemon that Homika didn't recognize. They each held leeks, to her surprise. When she approached, she found that the banner above the stand became more and more legible. Lawrence and Co. Missingno Expedition and Builders Association.
Curiosity sparked, Homika investigated. Homika read the information. And with curiosity sated, Homika signed up. She didn't care if she had a tour event. She didn't care that the gym wasn't closed that day. Homika wanted to go and Homika would get what she wanted.
After that day, she didn't think much of the expedition until she received her own notice. She had, of course, notified her manager that she would be taking a week off. The woman had been furious. Homika didn't care. As punishment, her manager was planning a festival where Homika would be taking on several powerful trainers and also playing a long set with the band. Homika knew she would be exhausted afterwards, but she was also looking forward to it. Why would she be a gym leader and a rock star if she didn't enjoy it?
On the day of her departure, she flopped down on her bed with her pokemon, reading the note over one last time before she left for the airport.
"Two drops of poison; one quick and precise, one wild and noxious."
The script itself was elegant, and written in ink so red it could have been blood. Sniffing the paper, Homika wrinkled her nose. Definitely wine. Her team-mate was someone called Janine. Not that Homika had any idea who that was. They were Team Deadly Nightshade. The man who wrote it said that there were two drops of poison. Homika wondered if that meant that Janine also specialized in poison type pokemon.
The location was the Old Chateau, in Sinnoh. It was closest to Jubilife City, which was good because that was where the airport was.
When she arrived at the Old Chateau on the bike she had rented upon arrival, she couldn't help raising her brows. This was what she was supposed to investigate with her team-mate? It was a rundown, abandoned mansion. There was grass growing up around the walls and vines running all over the walls. The windows were shattered and the door hung ajar. It looked like a house straight out of those horror movies that Nicky liked so much. She could only imagine how creepy it would look at night.
The only thing she could do now was avoid thinking about the creepy old house and wait for her partner. Having that said, Homika sighed and settled into the tall grass with her back to the house, watching the path as she munched on a candy bar. She hoped Janine would arrive soon. The pixie of a girl hardly had patience for this sort of thing, especially when she was both nervous and excited.
